Took the family out for daughter's dance recital and came back to find rear driver side window shattered. They were looking for guns and I wasn't packing. Left my polarized raybans behind which was only thing of value in car. All in all shattered my window and got nothing.

My deductible is $500 to get the glass replaced. I found rear window online for ~$75. Any idea how hard it is to replace?

Never had one apart in 4Runner but have done many in other cars. Normally not too bad. Hardest part getting door panel off without damage and worst part vacuuming all of the glass out of the door.

Relatively easy. Plenty of Youtube videos showing rear door panel removal for speaker installation. Usually the glass is held to the regulator with a couple of screws on plastic clamps.

You have any gun brand decals on your vehicle?

Get glass coverage. It was very inexpensive and I’ve already used it to replace my windshield. No deductible and doesn’t go against my regular policy.

Nope. No stickers on my car at all. I think they just had the right opportunity based on where I was parked between two 2500 size trucks.

Anyhow I was able to find a window on ebay for $80 but a local place quoted me $225 to fix it. I am going to get the local place to do it because they are going to help me with tinting too and plus it can be done today.

There is something weird with glass coverage in Texas -- I need to look more into that and see how much it would cost. The issue is they contract through safelite and our local safelite does AWFUL work.
