Looking for 4th Gen purchase in PNW

As the title says, I am looking in the PNW. I currently have a 2005 Tahoe Z71 that is absolutely perfect condition but like this gen 4Runner and am looking for one for my girl. We looked at a 2010 FJ Cruiser but the blind spots are not doable for her. If any member knows of a 4th Gen 4Runner for sale in the PNW area, please let me know.

Fair warning. I am a retired ASE Master Tech and have the knowledge and test equipment to thoroughly check out a prospective 4Runner. I will not waste my time driving all over "hell's half acre" without numerous pics and the offered 4Runner must have a supplied CarFax and supplied copies of maintenance and repairs records. I believe in documentation. Sorry if this offends.

 

Try MarketPlace and set the range to 200 miles.

 

I have done exactly that and set the range farther out. Too many of them that have a straight body think that the skies the limit, even with 200k+ miles.

It amazes me that people look at you, like a deer in the headlights, when you want to see maintenance and repairs records.

 

I hear ya on the maint records. I've given up asking for them and just make sure it's all done myself.

Don't want a V8. If they don't have records, that means they likely did not take care of it. Plus, I want a 2008 or 2009.

 

2009 and to a lesser extent 2008 may be the sticking point since they sold only 19k units for the 2009MY and 47k for 2008 and I bet those owners are going to hang onto those like mad. (especially since the limited-slip center went Limited-only for the 5th gen)

If we pretend every single one of each is still on the road there would be just slightly more 2009 Kia Borregos out there than 2009 4Runners.

I was shopping around for a 4th gen too earlier this year and pickings were certainly slim albeit with different criteria. (V6, 4WD, no sunroof or leather)

 

Based on this info, I have edited my post title and 1st post of what I am looking for.

 

Why no V8? Just curious.

 

I do not want a timing belt engine.
