Does anyone else have an alarm like what was evidently installed in my 2006 Sport 4x4 as an enhancement by the Toyota distributor from what I understand? I've attached a picture with an arrow pointing at what I have in the lower dash. There is no paperwork to explain how it works or doesn't, but occasionally I unlock and open the door (with the fob) and the alarm goes off. The button has two positions, depressed and out, and I don't know how either position is supposed to work. If anyone has a manual or instructions that describe how this works I'd appreciate it. I'm tempted to remove it and replace it with a known item, but it's likely wired into the truck's harness and may cause all kinds of grief if removed.Alarm Button.jpg

Thanks. I couldn't find anything using the search, so my apologies if there is something already posted I couldn't locate.

Sure that’s not just some aftermarket alarm? I’d probably just try to remove it all.

Are your Key Fobs TOYOTA or aftermarket? Most of the aftermarket alarms will replace the factory key fobs when installed. The TOYOTA branded alarms probably do too but with a different TOYOTA key fob with an extra button (not familiar with 4th gens).

I would look for the brain box for the alarm which is probably under the dash. It's probably got a number or name or FCC ID on it which you might be able to google and find the install manual. Then I would reverse the installation.

That's what I did for a 2008 Mazda 3 with a dealer installed alarm. I had to get new factory key fobs.

Agree with the above based off off the Dash switch, it appears to be an aftermarket installed system.

I have oem key fobs. I believe this system was one of those things they refer to as "installed at the port" by the Toyota distributor.
