Hi, my name is Jeff, just bought a 2003 4Runner Limited Sport V8 4WD with 87,000 miles. Started vehicle this morning, and the VSC TRAC OFF and ABS and BRAKE lights were on, car was making a high pitch buzzing noise. Any suggestions on what it could be, O2 sensor? reset VSC light?

Only saying this due to what "may" be relay buzzing, But have you had any issues with your battery? Would probably want to take a look at that cat first. Do you have the capability to connect and check for any system codes?

    Welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the response. No battery issues that I know of, but only had the car for 4 days. Unhooked the battery for about 20 minutes, VSC, ABS and BRAKE lights went away, and buzzing stopped. Thinking that it's only a temporary fix, so getting codes read tomorrow.

You may not be wrong in that assessment as my 2007 Tundra did something similar during starting one time several years ago. Went to start the truck and it did the same thing you mentioned. Got out and checked a few things, Then used the Key my wife had and it started up right up. I have not yet had that issue happen since then but did change out the battery as a service item a few months later. Am not sure if it was a one time communication error with the key/security system or another item. Throwing my experience out there.

Welcome from Wisconsin! Electrical gremlins suck, if that's what is wrong, hope you get it sorted out.

    Welcome to the forum,

You might have erased the CEL (malfunction) codes that were stored in the ECU when you disconnected the battery.
