Wondering what would be the ideal tire pressure for this size and make tire. Running these on TRD wheels under a 2023 ORP.
    Thanks!

    Oooh look, another mod.....
The manufacturer says the max PSI is 44PSI, so....between 35 - 38 is probably ideal?

My tires say max tire pressure is 51. I am currently around 33-34 which I feel may be too low. I am not sure how the TPMS work. Are they set for factory sized tires or do they self adjust with the larger tire.

    I just installed 285/70/17 Baja Boss A/T LT’s with a max psi of 80. Previously had KO2’s C-Load.

    I started at 42psi.
Too stiff so went to 40psi.
Still too stiff so went to 38psi.
Closer but not ideal so went to 35psi.

it’s up to the tire, yes, but also your rig, driving style, terrain and temp.

don’t fall into the trap that it’s a one-size fits all.

Stay within the tire mfg specs and do a little self trial and error until you get things dialed in - good luck!

Regarding tpms - it’s set to factory specs. When you get a new tire size setup and desired psi you’ll need to recalibrate the system.

Any tire shop worth a damn should have an odb2 handheld to perform the recalibration.

Note - Toyota and Lexus vehicles can be problematic when it comes to tpms. Before you’re sold on getting new wheel sensors be sure the tire shop’s handheld has the latest updates.

speaking from experience as I’m going through this now…

Please do not base your tire pressure off of the tire's maximum inflation. You'll almost certainly be overinflated. Here's one website that can calculate pressure based on OEM size, load rating, and recommended pressure.
