I get a rub on full driver side cut in reverse only after I removed mud flaps and fender cut/adjustment. Very slight and not everytime. Is this the body mount it's rubbing on? Can I grind it with a grinding wheel? 20231125_122848.jpg

How negative? The further out the wheel, the worse the rub.

Hard to tell what’s pictured, but it does look like the body mount. It might rub harder under full articulation while turning.

Grinding at it is basically what a body mount chop is. Except usually enough has to be removed that it is cut off instead, and a new cap welded on it.

Are you using aftermarket UCAs? Going back to stock UCAs might help you clear it, at the expense of lower (below spec) caster numbers. But if you aren’t lifted beyond 2.5 inches, caster wont be that bad on stock UCAs. I think I got low 2 degree range on mine and I dont mind it.

Yeah it barely hits and only on full cut to driver side in reverse. I might just leave it alone. Was looking at some 305/70/17 though my current are 285/70/17 . Haha might have to chop it.

You would have had that same rub even with the stock offset offset and the 33's. There are many companies that sell 4Runner body mount chop kits. While it's not a bad idea to do both of the front mounts. The front drivers side mount is usually the culprit. If you aren't a competent welder/fab guy, I suggest you go to a shop that can perform the work.

He would have less rub on stock offset. This is a good video explaining why.

What offset are your wheels? You'll be rubbing really bad with the 305's.

Stock UCAs and stock Off Road and I have plenty of clearance to the body mount at full articulation with 285/70-17 BF K02s…with mudflaps on. Other 285/70 are probably a smidge larger, but I bet even other brands would clear too if the wheels and UCAs are stock.
