Nice job, now you need to upgrade the turn signals (like I did):

Do the 23’ models not come with DRL lights?

Would you care to share how you did that? I have the same rig except in white and would love to do that. I thought, though, that I saw a post from you a few days ago in another thread that you got hyper flashing. Did you put in the resistors? Any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Pete

Edit: I just saw this post of yours:

Looks great...Hopefully it worked out. I'd love to do that too.

Interesting. I assume your high beam/DRL is incandescent originally like in my rig? I tried a Diode Dynamics LED 9005 SL1 LED light I had left over from my Ram. It supposedly was the right bulb. The high beam worked ok but the DRL would not come on. I assume this was the wrong light. Could you share which lights you used, assuming your OEM setup is the same as mine.

    Thanks for any help

    Pete

I literally just did this in less than 10 minutes following this procedure too. Took me longer to make the harness than to install it!

If you need a wiring harness, I have an extra one complete for $20 shipped, just need the bulbs. Harness comes in 2 pack and you only need one for the passenger side.

    Evening,
I would be happy to buy your extra harness if it is still available.

Thank you. I'll definitely look at getting those. I finally figured out that the halogen bulb is only the DRL. The owner's manual under Light bulbs references a 9005-HB3 bulb as the high beam/DRL but does say "if equipped". I finally tested it out and, yes, I have LED high and lows so all this bulb is for is the DRL. I was confused....not unusual...

However, I still have one of these left over from my Ram

    https://www.diodedynamics.com/high-...bs-for-2011-2023-ram-1500-2500-3500-pair.html

It does fit and works but I removed it again. I didn't want to mess something up and between the transformer (or whatever that is in the connector) and the anti-flicker module, it will take some thought to secure all that. But, theoretically, is there any technical reason I couldn't use those? I still will check the brightness, though.

    Thanks again,

    Pete

Borracho-Loco. Quick question on those bulbs. I found these two at the DD site

    https://www.diodedynamics.com/switchback-turn-signal-leds-for-2014-2023-toyota-4runner-pair.html
    https://www.diodedynamics.com/7443-hp24-switchback-dual-color-turn-signal-led-bulbs.html

You posted the latter link above. It looks like the bulbs in the first link do not need the resistors or did I read that wrong? And is it me or did they jack up the price since yesterday? I thought they were $56 for two and the resistors were $16. 25% increase. Damn.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

Both of the links you posted are for the exact same bulb (LED, that is), one is for the pair, one is for a single. Those are the ones I have now, that are hyper-flashing.

I ordered resistors (and yes, they did go up in price for both. I paid $16.00 for resistors & $56 for a pair of the 110P's) and I also ordered a different type of LED turn signals. I bought non-switchbacks. I want to test them to see if switching from white to amber is causing an issue? I doubt it is, but I want to test. I can return all this for a full refund if my theory fails.

    No biggie.

This is the LED that I will test with: SKU: DD0114P

Ok thanks. Makes sense. The specifications are different, though, which is what threw me. Good idea about the non-switchbacks. I'd be interested in how it turns out. My guess is the resistors will be needed in both cases. I put LED rear turn signals in my Ram and had to put the resistors on each harness. They solved the problem and I never had an issue for 5 years. No bulb out messages once I did that. I never bothered with the front since you had to take the whole headlight out to get at the connectors/bulbs which was a major pain. I just wonder how you'll get the resistors in there if it's as difficult to get at as I've read.

    I just came across these

    https://www.headlightrevolution.com/brightest-7440-turn-signal-bulbs?quantity=1

Not cheap. It's a good site, though, for ideas and some install videos.

What are those turn lights? Thinking of diode dynamics switchback which I think is a drl and turn signal combo. Looks pretty good in videos.

Yes I still have it and just took an 8 hr drive with mine and they work flawlessly. The harness is complete, you just need to install it on the passenger side, ground it on the bolt on the fender, then replace bulbs. I bought my bulbs from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085B9NYG2?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
Make sure to wear rubber gloves when handling the bulbs

I do have Paypal, just got Venmo but not 100% sure how it works yet.
Shoot me a PM to work out details. (I'm new here too, so bear with me while I navigate the PM too!)

So from reading thru this thread, there are no true plug and play bulbs to replace the DRL-only bulbs in a late model 4R (mine's a '23, low and high beam are off the same bulb in the projector housing)? Rockauto shows the DRL bulb for a '22 as being a 9005 (which I'm guessing is DRL-only, like my '23?). So why wouldn't a regular 9005 LED bulb work as a DRL in a 4R that has the low and high beam on the same bulb, not shared with the DRL?

As others have documented on other threads, the DRL uses pulse width modulation to control the brightness of the halogen bulb, which means the supply voltage turns on and off rapidly. There are descriptions on those threads of filter circuits you can add to create a steady supply voltage more amenable to LED. You could plug in an LED bulb without that, but it may not behave exactly as you like, such as flickering.
