Hello friends. So I posted my 4Runner for sale sale in the “For Sale” section and didn’t get a single response. I am wondering i am wondering if i posted incorrectly or perhaps didn’t properly describe. Any suggestions from fellow members would be appreciated. Here is the post info.that I
I am selling this beautiful low mileage (9500 miles) 4Runner TRD PRO with many modifications all done by Certified technicians at a well known local truck shop. The best mod is the Magnuson Supercharger. Additionally, in support of this upgrade, it also has an AFE exhaust, AFE Momentum cold air intake, Mishimoto heavy duty transmission cooler, Mishimoto upgraded radiator and thermostat, oil catch can, and related upgraded hoses. As for the fun exterior mods, there are new Morimoto rear lights with sequential turn signals, Morimoto headlights with sequential turn signals, Raptor grill lights, Morimoto ditch lights, Baja 6" behind the gril lights, Morimoto 4banger fog lights, Rough Country 20: dual light bar, Body Armour front bumper, Superwinch Graphite SX winch, Eibach springs (1.25" front and 1" rear),Gobi rear ladder, Preditor running boards, Falken Wildpeak AT3 285/70/17, and finally Fuel Offroad D675 Blitz wheels 17"x9" wheels, and lastly a kicker sub.

This is an awesome 4Runner. I am selling because I have other vehicles to driveand it's time to move on to something new. I have all of the documentation ofwhat was done. I am only looking for serious buyers in Marland. No lookie lous that just wanna test out the supercharger. The car has been mine since new and it has been well cared for. I am asking $59000.00 which is dealer trade valueplus what I think is fair for all the modifications. Bank wire only and transaction can be done atlocal PNC bank. I am located just outside of Baltimore, Maryland. I will try andanswer any questions that you may have; however, I am not a mechanic and maynot be able to answer any technical ones. I wanted everything done right which iswhy I paid top dollar to have everything installed. I also have all of the originalOEM parts, except the headlights, wheels-and tires, that I will include. I hold clear title.Thank you for taking the time to read mypost.

    Beautiful ride man.
To answer the initial issue you're inquiring about , and this is just my opinion and the way I think, I think you have a very rare gorgeous color (I like the bold colors) and fully tilted with mods. So, basically you wanting it to sell it at the price to cover the mods, you have to find yourself to sell it too.

Maybe silence on your sale post was a good thing. You didn't get the asses telling you "I can buy one down the road for cheaper" type replies. I don't how it is in Maryland but in Texas 20+ Pros are selling for 8K -10K less (higher mileage than you, even more than that). Obviously not with a magnusson. So, you really have to wait and keep on the sale until someone who wants that and the extras. So, you have to take that into account.

My suggestion only, if you want a specific sale with all the mods. I would try cars and bids or bring a trailer.

Thank you for your response. I spent nearly $30k doing the mods because I wanted to pay a professional performance shop to do all modifications so that they were done properly and also to help maintain warranties where I could. I realize I won't get most of that back, but I was hoping I could recoup at least some of the physical costs of the parts themselves. And I am certainly flexible on price. I am hoping forum members like you will definitely be able to give me some good advice on how to sell it.

Perhaps another consideration is buyer skepticism or should I say caution.

Another consideration - When a vehicle is this customized and heavily modded yet so new it can cause one to pause and consider things like:

Why did somebody go to all this trouble and expense to mod out their rig yet they’re wanting to sell so soon?!?!?

I agree with the previous post in that with a unique rig such as yours you just need the right buyer to come along.

I’m not a bling guy but think you have a great looking ride.

With you wanting to move on from this 4Runner to focus on your other rides I must say I’m curious what else you have planned…!

Best of luck and I’m jealous of your supercharger!

Thank you for the compliments and insights. My 4runner is blushing. I definitely get people being unsure about possible issues with all of the mods, especially this type, that was one reason I went to a performance and customization shop and paid for professional labor. I have all of the receipts so hopefully that will help and alleviate some fears. I tend to buy new vehicles every year or so. Some I mod some I don't. A few years ago I did similar things, less the supercharger, to a Jeep Gladiator Mojave. For me, a lot of the fun is in doing the design and getting the smiles. The I tire easily.

IMO, removing the decals and green D-rings, bolting on the OE wheels, and adding the OE front/rear lamps may broaden the "curb appeal" to a wider audience with the aftermarket parts offered to the buyer or sold elsewhere.

Thanks. We are talking about only two tiny window decals and easily removable screw on d-rings. Unfortunately, I no longer have the original wheels and tires or headlights. So it sits as it stands. I do have many of the other items that were removed and am including them so someone could put it back closer to stock. I do recognize that this is a specialty vehicle and would require just the right person. Perhaps someone who doesn't want to spend the time or money to do modifications, but wants to get in and go. Thank you for your advice.

You will love the watch. Get it insured for like a $100k. Also needs to to be oiled every now and then just like a car.

I think patience is key. Because many buyers would like to buy non modified 4Runner at higher price. Also people walk away when things like supercharger is installed. Have patience for the right buyer.

Posting on other places where buying process is high in demand like FB market place or other buying sites would help you to get a reasonable price. Me personally see this site if more focus on mod ideas and selling accessories vs selling vehicles.

I don't to general social media. Plus, a lot of the people on FB market place try and low ball or in my area carjack and take your car. There have been over 10000 vehicles stolen in Baltimore this year. I may just wholesale it off and move on. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

You have a very nice rig I would put it on bat, I think you’re two biggest issues are the super charger and the color. While the supercharger is cool it scares a lot of people and lime rush needs that certain buyer. If you had a cavalry blue or quicksand or another rare desired color it would have been sold

I'm gonna 2nd the BAT (Bring A Trailer) or Cars and Bids. Those are specialized sites and sales of rare vehicles. FYI they take commissions and take A LOT of hoops to list. But most say it's worth it and pretty painless.

I sell lot of stuff on FB market place to help my next purchase. (Though I never sold a vehicle on FB market place, I only trade to Toyota). You can politely respond that you cannot go below X amount. You can also check their pubic profile and if its suspicious say the price is fixed. Meet up maybe at a bank parking lot or similar? For smaller items I meet at my house in day time where cameras can capture the buyers face.

Again, I haven't sold a vehicle but sold many 4Runner parts, photography equipment, musical instruments, etc on FB. I had good luck so far.

I'm poor, my wife owns everything.
That's a nice rig. I'm not keen on the color but I like the setup.

There's a younger part of me that loves the look of a built up rig and would buy that in a heartbeat in my 20s. However, how many younger adults can afford a $55k+ loan monthly payment?

Now (41) I prefer the "closest to oem/stock" look when purchasing a vehicle.... especially if it's the family/wife vehicle. While the off-road look is sweet I know my wife wont be needing 90% of the mods/add-on's.

Thank you for your thoughts. I can certainly understand the issues carrying that size loan note. I am surprised that a lot of people don't like that color green. It looks awesome in the sunlight. Many have mentioned the fun of doing one's own modifications and that makes sense. It is one badxxx ride though. The supercharger makes it drive like it should from stock. Still a 4runner though. Just has some pep in its step.

Nice 4Runner but the fact that you are limiting yourself to only Maryland buyers is probably the biggest reason why you haven't sold it. Why not spread it out anyone on here? And I'll 3rd BAT.

I love that bold color and enhancement. Unfortunately, it would only appeal to someone with same taste - which is very rare.

Some of those upgrades invalidates the warranty. I had experienced denied repairs before (just because I added aftermarket HID assembly). Spending all these money on upgrades means you are planning on keeping it for a long time. Which raises suspicion on the sudden fire sale.

Just my honest 2c. Don't be offended.

Maybe try Cavana and those online stores. You might have to take a hit though

"I am asking $59000.00 which is dealer trade value plus what I think is fair for all the modifications".

So what was JUST dealer trade value?

If you put 30k into anything other than a house it had better be because you are keeping it for 20 years IMO.

Dealer trade value was $50k. So, I felt $9k for the mods was reasonable. And I would have accepted a reasonable counter offer. I spent as much as I did because I wanted everything done right and perfect by legit technicians, not backboard bob and definitely not me. I have no patience or faith in doing any mods myself.

I did that mainly because you then get into shipping and other things which complicates matters. But I am sure someone out in the great big US would love to have it if it was in their back yard to buy.

Good luck with your sale. I had a 4Runner that had the super charger, got it at a great price used. I traded that one in and bought one with out the super charger a couple years later.

I learned, I’d rather have a vehicle that I can customize like I want, versus trying to figure out or deal with what someone else did

That is actually a very fair trade in offer IMO and I agree 9k is very fair for your mods!

Glad you found a buyer because that is always a challenge!
