Well, now you're just talking crazy.

I agree, though.. There's something about the sound of a V8 that you just don't get with a 4. I actually think some 4 cylinders sound good with the right exhaust. But, it's not the same as a V8. It's part of the reason I'd rather have a slower ICE sports car than an EV sports car. The sound of the engine is part of the experience.

I have been saying this to people forever. I'd rather have the 3 cylinder Corolla than the fastest Tesla or Lucid.

Vipers are cool! I got a ride in one, as a kid. Probably a freshman or sophomore in high school. I still remember how it pulled!

I owned one, sold it. I owned a TJ, sold it. Two of my biggest mistakes when it comes to cars. I miss both dearly. I am a Dodge/Ram/Chrysler guy, I don't know much about Fords and GMs

You'd get along with my Mom's BF. Mopar guy to the bone. I got a ride in this right before he put it up for sale. I felt like a celebrity with all of the people gawking.

I still have a soft spot for the original. It was the first really fast car I ever rode in.

Because they look cool, there's something different (for a while at least) and supposedly they drive much better than Jeeps because of the IFS and rack and pinion steering. I haven't driven one of those, or a modern Jeep, so I can't say from experience.

All this going back and forth about Broncos and Wranglers and 4Runners, THIS is what I would want. The 2024 70 series LC. Solid front axle, 2.8 L turbo diesel. Just one more reason to move out of the US, lol.

The JL is levels above JK and TJ. It is fast and comfortable. Jeep has done a fantastic job. JL is not the Wrangler of the past, they are pretty good now. Maybe I am biased, but Bronco didn't impress me when I drove. It neither has Jeep's charisma and capability, nor 4Runner's build quality.

New Corvettes, Camaros, Mustangs, Hemi Dodges etc are faster than any of those cars back from the '60s and '70s.

I love the old cars, they have character for days and they sound great, but objectively they suck compared to the muscle cars of today.

Hemi will be dead, its only a matter a few more years. Jeep is experimenting with the 3.0 Turbo Wagoneer and will evebtually kill the Hemi. It is sad

Oh I agree, the JL is great. A big reason that I ended up in the 4Runner in the first place is because the JL came out when I was looking at used JK's, and it was so much of does an improvement it turned me off the JK altogether.

I definitely could not afford a new JL, but for a little less than the used JKs I was looking at, I ended up in this 4Runner.

I figured if I was looking at a 6-year-old vehicle with almost 80k miles, the Toyota was probably the safer bet.

Too much political influence on the automotive industry, and government regulations. It's BS.

As much as I am in looking forward to a more powerful, fuel efficient 6th gen 4Runner, I'm not happy about the driving force behind it.

I thought the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer already killed the hemi; they only offer the I6 twin turbo Hurricane engine now and hybrid I think.

I hate it when these companies half-heartedly go after Jeep. That will never work. Stop turning Tacomas and Rangers into SUVs hoping you will compete with Jeep. Jeep has been building these tiny machines with live axle for decades.

The Tacoma didn't exist yet when the 4Runner was born. And, if Toyota really wanted to compete with the Wrangler, they would.

And they should. I would love to buy a Jeep knockoff by Toyota. Jeep is selling fully loaded 2 doors for as high as 70 grand. They can do it, they have no competition. Jeeps never were this expensive, never.

Are they still doing the Eco-diesel? I was interested in those for awhile when I was considering a full size pickup a few years ago.

It was a disaster. It had a lot of torque, but was poorly built. They are not offering them anymore.

They discontinued the eTorque mild hybrid system too. Now they are offering just the good old 3.6

I remember reading that the demand was higher than expected, and the motors were rushed through production and quality suffered. I thought maybe they'd recover, but I guess not. Was a nice concept.

I suppose newer diesel emissions regulations didn't help. They really ruined HD pickups.

I built this Wrangler, and you can see how expensive it is for a 2 door. Add a lift and 37s, and now you are looking at 70 grand. It doesn't even have the technology and comfort group

Throwing my 2 cents in here lol. The majority of guys who wheel with us that have Broncos are well let's say not very daring. It's mostly rock crawling out here in AZ and the stuff they think is scary is pretty funny. I personally think the Bronco Badlands trim out performs a 4R. Front and rear lockers, and stock 35s but it's often to much truck for its drivers lol.

My 4R has done probably 95% of the trails my TJ Rubicon did with zero issues. Definitely had to pick my lines more carefully though and couldn't play on random rock ledges as much as I would like but yeah the 4Rs need more respect! People have no idea just how capable these are with a lift, armor and proper tires.
