I went with this version which doesn't cover up as much of the stupid labels but they do come in handy.

    Oooh look, another mod.....
I took my 4Runner to the Cowboys game! Best of all, it was all free. Parking, the game ticket ( in a suite ) and it was catered.

    Go Cowboys!

I’m on 33’s and did a re-gear to 4:88 Nitro’s, the main reason is my 4runner is heavy. Also why I have Stoptech brakes. My MPG is mid 13’s

No, not really with the MPG. It changed the searching a little bit on long uphill climbs and low end torque. The problem is it weighs 6150lbs I don’t think anything will help but going on a diet and that is something I’m not willing to do. I added, because of the weight, the Fox 2.5 factory series suspension. 13.5 is ave.

Oh my, you’re correct that does stink. We are driving a brick, but, that seems extra bad. Have you added a lot of weight to your ride?

Nice! I’ve done this to my 3rd gen since buying it secondhand and has kept it like the day I bought it through several of our nasty New England winters.

Surprised you got away with only 2 cans. Usually takes me like 4 cans on my 3rd gen. Going with a combo of woolwax on the frame, krown inside body panels/everywhere else, and fluid film as touch up for my 5th gen this time.

Personally, I would definitely get on it as soon as you can. Beach + salt = more rust, which is the only thing that will really kill these trucks down the road.

Sand on the fluid film after application isn’t a bad thing imo. Actually helps create a thick stuck on base layer of FF that you can build on the following year. Just don’t forget to get inside the frame rails with a wand and shoot the stuff everywhere.

It’s messy, nearby neighbors will hate you for a few days from the smell, but it works and is pretty cheap rust insurance.

Did my first oil change today. I can see how some people complain about dealer cross threading skid plate bolts. Kinda of a PITA to put back up.
Installed a valv-o-max drain and replaced the plastic filter housing with aluminum.

On another note, when I had the NHOU undercoating sprayed on, yea, they sprayed both skid plates...fun.
But, I cleaned the front one since it was the only one to remove and it took two de-greaser sprays and a lot of scrubbing to get that stuff off.
Bottom line is, I can see how that stuff will protect the frame parts it is sprayed on since it took mechanical effort to really remove it.

I’m surprised you even get almost 11 mpg, nice ride, remember we did not buy this vehicle for great MPG we bought for exactly what you are doing in this pic. Well done!

One of these days I’ll do something to my 4Runner that costs more than $12, but for now I can at least get rid of the hideous silver dealership plate frame and put on this.

Had the Corn Fed spacers installed to get rid of that "always looks like you're slamming on the brakes" look. Not completely level stance but a lot better than before. Also, had a tiny bit of the steering wheel shake before, but after the alignment, no shake at all. Like the new look, but love the fact that the "shake" is gone.

Bumper install, stage 1. The weather is not cooperating, and I found an extra 20 lbs of mud.

Anyone with 2023 or 2024 4runner tried my garage opener video and didn't work? (Or worked?)
Asking because one person commented that it didn't work.

Shelled out 500 clams for some Tacoma TSS wheels. Now gotta get them put on.

As a side note: the OEM 4 Runner tires apparently come on the TSS wheels. Who knew? :notsure:

2023 ORP. Your video worked for me, but I had to order a free "training" remote from the garage door opener manufacturer first.

My opener is so old, that it has outdated software that wasn't working with the homelink stuff. Once i received the training remote, your video worked.

Installed a CTek P/N 56-958 4.3A "Polar" charger/maintainer in the carport for the 4Runner, to keep the Costco battery topped up when parked. Used a CTek P/N 56-304 extension cable to move the plug to the grille:

    [IMG] [IMG]

Mounted the charger in an outdoor electrical box for discreet appearance and cable management. The 12V cable can be coiled up inside the box when not in use.
