Did I buy the wrong wheel size??

Hey y’all new here, have had my 4th gen standard 4Runner SR5 and starting to do some upgrades. I bought some ALPHAequipt Foxtrots 17x7.5 with +35mm offset. Honestly I have tried to find anything that would show me it’s the wrong size or can’t be done on my car body, I just need help

 

Hey bud, I had very similar questions when first upgrading tires on my 2016, I din fully understand offset and backspace.
I bought 0 offset, 5 backspace, 9" wide wheels (up from 7.5" wide stock) then added 1.25" spacers making the wheel look like -31mm offset lol

4th Gen stock offset is +30mm (17x7.5", 30mm offset)
That's quite high in the other direction, for positive offset wheels. Knowing this about 4th Gen's, I'd say you'll be OK at +35 offset, just sitting +5 more millimeters in, on a 17 by 7.5.

What the bolt pattern & backspace spec?

 

This is really good feedback thank you! I have standard factory wheels on now with 6 bolts, my biggest concern is the esthetic, how will it look if wheel is more inward versus 0MM. I know we are really only talking an inch and a half so maybe it won’t look much different, and wheels can make a world of difference to, but can it still look mean and aggressive with optimal functionality or should I just return them for TRD standard matte black (which most ppl like me have)

 

The wheel is close to stock 4th gen offset so it should fit fine. However, you won't be able run tires larger than stock without rubbing on the upper control arm. Even 265/70-17 may rub.
