At this stage of the build they're running a 426 Hemi, by America's Most wanted, a shop that does these conversions.

This started off as a 3.6 Pentastar, then they turbocharged it, then they blew that up, then they went with the Hemi swap.

This build has had a few stages, when they first got this Jeep they were just running a 2-in rough country spacer lift and 35s and taking it on some crazy trails even then.

I am buying this, the price is reasonable. Test driving it tomorrow. It's a stick shift

You will love the metalcloaks ( the fenders ) that was my favorite mod on my TJ. Flopped it a few times in giant cracks without any damage due to those guys. That's a great looking rig!

That's exciting! Sometimes I miss my Jeeps lol. There doesn't appear to be to much of a lift on there. It should ride perfectly fine. A great thing about getting a Rubicon TJ is you don't have to worry about doing a slip yoke eliminator. I can't tell you how many dudes I wheeled with who didn't do that when they lifted their TJ and had all sorts of driveline vibrations and issues.

Nice! That color should get you a nice discount too! Unless that barbie movie has created new demand for that color ;):D

I'd love to have a Unimog as a platform for an offroad camper van type setup. But agree that in certain situations they are too wide for trails.

I think it would be perfectly suited out west as long as it wasn't a mountain pass

    A Volvo C303 might be a good alternative. :D

On the JKs you can run stock Rubicon wheels on 35s with a mild lift and a fender trim and have loads of articulation.

I agree completely! I had a 1990 KLR650 in Ken and Barbie colors and it did the same things as any other KLR. Doesn’t mean you can’t point out to the seller that you didn’t know jeeps came in barbie colors lol. :p

Ronnie dahl on youtube has done a few unimog owner interviews. Very cool, but enough details in the vids to bring some reality into the dream lol. Still, I’d love to get one fitted out and just live in it.

I just checked and you can get a front mounted bush-hog for a Unimog. Very capable vehicle with the amount of add-ons that are available.

I was at an event in VT last month and there were a few mogs there, including this one. It was cool, yet also big and dumb. I had branches running down both sides of my 4R, I can only imagine the hole this thing punched through the forest. Definitely not a practical vehicle for the East Coast. I love the color! Reminds me of US Forest Service green. Wrapping my 4R USFS green has actually crossed my mind.

OK…I’m asking because I don’t know and want to learn a bit more. I checked with my buddy. Confirmed he has a 17 JK.

Would 35 in tires clear the tub inside the rear wheel well? Would it run into the frame on full steering lock? And clear the swaybar?

I can’t visualize how it would fit based on what we saw when we flexed his out completely (It was articulated fully-with the swaybar disconnected, and up to the point a tire came off the ground.

I’d view this one as more of a living/nomad vehicle, less of a “frequent travel”vehicle. Closer to an RV that doesn’t suffer as much on uneven or rough terrain.

If I got one for frequent forest use, I’d definitely spend some time doing bar work to keep from hanging up on branches.

The only problem you can’t make go away, is the amount of attention it would get. Which works against you if you’re trying to disappear into the wilderness. I guess that’s what makes it big and dumb :p

    Still though…so. damn. cool.

I can't remember how I even found out about them. But, I would love to build one into a mini camper. Portal axles, triple locked, super badass platform!

"Center locker", you've been hanging around Toyota nerds for too long, lol.

She looks like a real peach, great find!
