All I get is this little box?!
Also hit it with a ball peen hammer before trying to loosen.

I did try tapping it with a hammer, somewhat softly. I don't have a ball peen hammer but used a normal one gently. I'll try again soon now that the PB Blaster has had time to sit in there. If it doesn't budge again i'll try heating it up as mentioned as well. Thanks for all the suggestions everyone.

As a follow up to this, I believe I located the issue as the misfire on cold startup has been gone for a few weeks now and it was steadily happening each night before.

Right before this started up, I replaced the plastic nipple on the back of my stock airbox that runs to the fuel pressure regulator with a brass one because it broke off. I think the 3/16” barb fitting I used was causing some issue with the vacuum signal the FPR was seeing since the stock plastic one is a bit smaller. After swapping to a Tacoma air box with the smaller vacuum barb fitting, the misfires went away completely and haven’t returned.
    IMG_0220.jpg

Since this appeared to be solved I started doing other things, and replaced the stock console that wouldn’t stay shut with a replacement that has two outlets. Also swapped out the shifter for a new one. New tires and original wheels go back on Friday.

Real quick. I aired down my 285/75/R17 Load E KO2s to 15 psi, and I loved the comfort and the traction on the trail. What is the safe minimum PSI I can run on TRD Offroad Premium wheels? I I wonder if 10 psi would be fine. Thanks

At 10PSI, depending on the trail, you are probably going to be OK unless you start getting into some rocks. The chance of popping a bead on the tire at 10psi is much higher. Most trails and rock crawling, I run about 15psi with factory wheels. When it's time to air up again, you might find that the pressure has gone down some anyhow. TRD Offroad Premium wheels are just a fancy stock wheel.

For stock wheels, I would keep it around 12-15psi for trail use. If you really feel you need to be able to go lower, then you need to think about swapping wheels to either real bead lock wheels or at the very least, Method Bead Grip wheels. The bead Grips aren't a bead lock wheel but have been proven to retain the bead down to 5psi in some serious rock crawling that a factory wheel would fail at. See DirtLifeStyle's review of the Method Bead Grips for more info on them.

These will probably be my next tire. Currently run the defenders but in a 265/65/17. I want to go up a size but my current tires have a lot of life left in them.

Yeah I have those same defenders on my Tacoma. Great tires, they could just look a little more aggressive. And I hear you there, tires are expensive, better get all the life out of them that you can

So does this just allow you to keep your low beams, and fogs on with the high beams?

Do you guys have the Michelin LTX AT2? Nice look, tough (64K on mine, still plenty of tread), and terrific on and off road.

Didn’t know about those tires. They do look better than the defenders from a purely visual perspective.

Replaced Map lights, dome lights, trunk light and license plate lights with LEDs from Diode Dynamics. Still need to do the puddle or running board lights but I ordered like soft white, and want to do them in pure white. Reordered the license plate lights as well cause I want those in pure white too. But, for the interior it looks like a pretty solid upgrade, same-ish color but much brighter.

Those look good on the sequoia wheels. And yes I went with the LTX A/T2 for the 4Runner. Hoping mine last 60k+ as well. Are yours load range E? I went with standard load to save weight and since I won’t be offroading

Sequoia wheels should have been standard or at least optional on the 4runner. They are so much better than the stock ones they came with.

Oh, I replaced the nasty OEM carpet this long weekend. ACC cutpile with mass vinyl backing from Rockauto.com.

Mine are the stock P265/65/17 but I offroad regularly with no issues (my YT channel is linked below). I’m not rock crawling Moab but that’s not my thing anyway.

Just did the math and they’re at 65,350 miles. The tread looks fully capable of hitting 70K.

I always thought the black fog light surrounds looked out of place when everything else is the body color, so I painted mine to match.

The other thing that never made sense to me was that the fog lenses are 5 inches in diameter but the hole in the surrounds is only 4, so 20% of the potential light output is blocked. Not much you can do about that though.

Got all my LEDs in for the interior/exterior. Went with soft white (kinda similar to OEM color but brighter) inside and pure white for the running boards and license plate lights. Makes the exterior look more modern IMO.
