    Hello,

I am unsure what hose this is on the Overfill check valve, i'm having EVAP problems and this one seems to just slide right on and off with little effort and i’m hoping to get a replacement. A part number would be perfect.

I just took my runner to the shop after having them inspect my EVAP codes, they said it was the hose to the right that was loose, they reconnected it and when I went to go get gas right after it died upon start up. Previous fill ups it would have a rough idle and start up after getting gas and getting gas only, but now it just died. I’ve replaced a lot on the EVAP system already, I have had codes P0440, P0441 and P0446 keep coming on after each new part installed. I called the shop back and let them know what happened but can’t take it until next week. Any help?

Evap issues shouldn't have anything to do with the car dying like that. I'm thinking you have a few things wrong.

Here is my write up on replacing the entire EVAP system on a 2001-2002 4Runner: I urge you to READ the whole thing.

The part you are asking for is:

    77404-35010

I found it very reasonable to just buy all the parts and rebuild the entire gas tank ONCE.

One thing I did not do is the purge valve in the engine bay. It is an easy replacement and wasn't my issue.

Thank you! great information here! all will be taken into consideration and i’ll get back to you on what i find! I’m starting to think it’s more of a pressure issue. The problem right now is when i get gas then start it up after it’ll start, bog down, and die on me. Something when i release pressure from the system by taking gas cap off and filling it up isn’t sending gas through. I am assuming fuel pump or like you’ve shown on your thread the suction assembly. I’m going to tackle that tomorrow! let me know what you think!

You may want to do a fuel pressure test, but to me it sounds like a fuel issue which is probably the fuel regulator, filter or pump.

Went to smog just to see what they say since all of this is to pass. They said catalyst system hasn’t reset, drive 60mph for 15 minutes, did that 10 minutes in light comes on for P0441 again, left my scanner at home and autozone checked it and said EGR Vacuum Solenoid, the VSV on the charcoal canister that has already been replaced and passed an inspection by a shop so i’m not really trusting their recommendation. Leaning towards replacing the Pump and suction assembly to be replaced now, where is the regulator located on the 01-02 runners?

Fuel regulator is in the engine bay. Near the firewall. I haven't needed to replace it yet.
