True. There are many dealers that don't participate.

My time is worth at least $4000 dollars more of a discount than the Costco quote I got.

    Nice!

Looks like a darker version of "Cement.". How do you like it?

My wife bitched to me because I bought a ne w4 Runner at 9% with 16k for a trade in that was paid for. I refinanced with USAA for 2 points lower. Only way I could do it.

I purchased a new ORP a couple of days ago only had 3 miles so no one had even test drove it before me a d that made me happy. Anyway, sticker was just over 54,000 and they had a minimum of 3500 + markup on ORP , Pro, and Limited. First thing I told them was I would not pay over msrp. I had an 80,000 mile Fj I was going to trade . Had them take the fj to see what they would offer, first offer they made we were about 12,000 different. Made them 1 more offer and didn't get much from them. Told my salesman I wasn't playing the back and forth and made 1 final offer as I was going g out the door. Got 2 calls that evening which I declined. Called the next morning made an offer, they called back and ended up getting it for almost 5 grand under MSRP. Went to go finalize the deal and they had my FJ listed before I even left the lot. The FJ helped me a lot but letting them know I was a serious buyer and like another mentioned, not fighting "making a deal" on their turf will go a long way.

And good luck with your search, these things are sweet, I didn't think driving could be any better than an FJ but it can.

You can do a 500 mile (from your location) search on the Toyota.com website. Search for 2023 ORP in Lunar. I'm in SoCal, only three matches came up, one dealer asking $62K, the other two in line with MSRP (not that the dealer would necessarily sell for that). If you want Lunar, you should bite the bullet and pay the few grand extra it may cost, otherwise you will be out of luck any day now (or just start looking for used).

The closest to you is at Toyota of Selma (Fresno area), another in Long Beach. If I was you, I'd been on the phone to Selma when you wake up and on my way down there.

you think the discount they gave you was influenced by the fj trade in? They could play around between discount on the 4r or less trade in value.
Do you think you could have gotten $5k discount if you were not trading in an fj?

Absolutely, you could almost see them foaming at the mouth.
    r
I think the FJ had quite a bit to do with it but they've only got it listed for just under two grand for what they gave me for it

I paid sticker $54,732 for this TRD ORP that came with tube steps, Tashima roof basket, TRD wheels, KDSS, black badge kit and a few other tweaks. Dealer gave me a generous trade for my 2016 SR5 Premium with 75,000 miles.

Quickly looking at Sunnyvale and Stevens Creek Toyota in the Bay Area shows a lot of Limiteds in the $55K range. SR5 Premiums around $48K. No ORPs.

That's 10k more than I paid for my 2019. My brain says no way. I'm keeping mine until either me or my truck gives up the ghost. And it will probably be me first.

my 2020 white orp with kdss was 43k otd

I have a 23 lunar rock now paid 51k otd to me I would say the color and little upgrades such as led headlights from the factory are worth it. I know you can get aftermarket but they’ll never be good as oem plus my heated steering wheel is much nicer than I expected. Don’t really care or use apple car play but the front camera is nice same for blind spot monitoring and auto headlights

my 23’ ORP with kdss + moon+ mdm was $48k OTD. Granted OTD is largely meaningless relative comparison

It's a TRD Pro clone minus TRD exhaust and Fox suspension.
There is very little negotiation with the 4R because dealerships barely have to try and sell these vehicles. They are in such high demand they know that someone will eventually pay what they're asking (or more). I was barely able to negotiate about $1000 worth of extra crap I didn't want off the final sale price. Just be happy most dealers, at least that I've seen, aren't charging over MSRP any more on non-Pro models. There is no harm in trying to talk them down, but it's probably not going to happen in the current car buying climate.

Fairly inaccurate sentiment that I have to reply, to ensure buyers don’t give up. My anecdotal buying experience from December is that many markets out west are EASiLY entertaining healthy discounts on new stock - $3k - $5k off msrp for ORP trim.

Granted my experience was on 2023 MY. 24 MY will likely get less discount. However ‘23 units are still sitting on dealer lots

Yeah, TRD ORPs are $2k-$3k off all day long. Seems like the discounts are even higher in the PNW.

I don't think it's inaccurate depending on the trim you're going for, what part of the country you live in, and obviously the dealership. I bought my 4R in Colorado where only Outbacks and Forresters outnumber the amount of 4Rs you see on the road. People flock to these trucks, keeping demand high enough to where dealerships have the advantage. If you were buying in some place like Florida or even Cali, maybe you'd be able to negotiate a few thousand off, but no way was that happening where I bought mine. I'll also add, I had the disadvantage of going after an allocation with KDSS and in Solar Octane which is a unicorn color on the 2024 TRD OR models. There were only about a dozen within a 500 mile radius of me in that color, and only two had KDSS. The dealership knew that too when I contacted them about the allocation lol.

Where you get your ORP from? I am in Denver.. got it from Groove.. mountain states had same deal. dealers in NV and west coast were offering same deal with just a little bit of bargaining over email. I ultimately decided not deal with out of state hassle.

I got $5k off msrp of $50k. All dealer add-ons were waived.

Edit: I see your color was a unicorn, thus inflating its market price. so that’s not representative of the full fleet of available 4Rs and the potential deals out there, thus my correction of the narrative.

$47,968 before taxes is was what I paid for my wife's 24' ORP in Underground. It was one of the first UG ORP in the Northstate.

I'll tell people the same thing I was told on page 1. If one dealer wont work with you then go to the next. I had to drive approx 1.5 hours and saved 6 grand vs. the lunar rock dealer.

Be patient and know what your willing to spend.

Here is a hint, get it from a dealership in a cheaper state. I even got the dealership to pay for my plane ticket there
