Greetings! New (to me) 3rd gen

Hello everyone!

I just picked up a pretty clean ‘02 SR5 4WD last week. 195k. Decent maintenance history. I’ve wanted a 3rd gen since I was a kid, and have always wanted a vehicle to wrench on. I’ve always either had cars with warranties, and my other daily is an ‘03 S55 AMG. I save that one for a professional lol

I’ve already done a gas tank Seafoam treatment and an EFI relay reset. New PCV hose is on the way so the valve will be done shortly. Next week I’ll be checking on LBJs, and inspecting the radiator. (I think I’ll go ahead and swap everything anyways) I just gutted the interior and pressure washed the carpets and deep cleaner the seats, as well as inspected for rust (clean as a whistle) and removed the side steps (free lift lol) later will be trans/diff fluid check as well as the Tundra brake upgrade. I tow a small trailer from time to time, and need better brakes for peace of mind.

Anyway, I’ve lurked in this community for awhile, and am so elated to finally be able to participate!

Antenna mast? Easy fix old one comes right out new one goes right back in usually. I opted for the cheap eBay mast, didn’t work. New OEM mast like $75. Don’t get the shorty it does not pic up any stations.

 

I knew I forgot something thank you lol yes I need to figure that out. Im not going for a crazy overlander rig, but I found some interesting mods I liked. May stick with OEM at first. I have forever to change my mind.

 

Does it have a cassette player?

 

YEEEESSSS! On my first drive, I stopped by a flea market with the wife. There was a booth selling tools (had to pick some up) and had one single Cassette…. Santana’s Supernatural. So obviously we bought that for $1. 1 minute later we fire it up. Boom, “Smooth” starts. It made me laugh hard.

 

It may act up. I got a demagnetizer/cleaner cassette pretty cheap. From dirty cassettes.
