Recently had my 2016 4Runner undercoated, and before doing so, I took a few pictures of the undercarriage. I am the original owner, and it had earlier spent a few winters in the Rust Belt.

Does this seem particularly bad/good/average for a truck of that age/history? Just curious. I assume I've caught it early enough where annual undercoatings will prevent any real progression of the corrosion. Thanks.

Not too bad, I would wire brush as much as possible and treat with some type of rust preventative

It's fine. Welds typically rust within the first year because paint doesn't adhere well to the cladding (same story if you try to touch up the paint).

I think you have a rear diff leak where it bolts to the axle housing.

That's pretty good for a 2016 in with some years in the rust belt - just surface rust.

My '16 doesn't look significantly better and has never been to the Rust Belt. I say you're doing well.

That is inconsequential. And now that you have it fluid filmed/ surface shielded its not going to spread.
