I didn't get the deals some of the above posters got, but I grabbed a MGM 23 ORP for $2k off sticker. Unfortunately they did some BS vin etching that I didn't want for $199 so I actually only got $1800 off sticker. In my market they are going for between 2-3k off depending on the model. 2wd SR5's are $3k off, ORP are about 2k off. This is my local dealer in SW Indiana. I called several dealers within a couple hours and no one would beat that. I didn't find the best deal, but I don't feel like I got screwed either. The 24's are coming out and this was my last chance to get on in MGM so I am satisfied.

Not bad. Where state are you in?

I scored $2900 off my TRD ORP last month. Didn't have to try very hard either. They were eager to sell, I could tell.

Interesting. When I bought mine, I dropped the ball by going to the dealer, checking out the truck, and saying "ill be back tomorrow" so I could sleep on it, but with full intentions. Go back the next day - truck gone  This happened twice before I finally said I am not leaving without this truck. Definitely a regional thing. In Michigan, they seem to move pretty quick off the lots and are harder to find.

I live in WA, bought in Oregon about an hour SE of Portland.

The deal was so easy I almost feel like I must have left money on the table. I know enough to know, though, that at 5K off of MSRP there was no meat left on the bone of that deal. No regrets, though. I got a good color, and the equipment I wanted is not common, which is a TRD ORP without a sunroof, and with KDSS.

Go to Ford and steal a Mach E from them, they may just ask you for your Civic, that's all :D

I paid $48,650 for my 2023 Offroad Premium with KDSS and sunroof. It came blacked out and with a sweet rockslisder. It is black though. 100,000 mile and 7 year warranty included in that priced. But I modified the crap out of the poor guy. It is unrecognizable

I can’t imagine ever buying a new vehicle again, especially at these prices. What’s the real difference if you can save so much buying one that’s a year old? Or is the used market that high right now?

If you know what you’re doing you can buy a brand new one for less than a late model used one. I don’t understand why anybody buys used in this market.

And what’s the interest rate? Just curious. Has to be adding many thousands to the total whether new or used, right?

My experience in 2019 was similar to what @Gorgester is saying. Used 4Runners have always had high resale value, and I figured I might as well pay an extra few thousand and get a new one. IIRC, lower mileage used ones were being advertised in the mid-upper $30K range, and I paid $38.6 for a new ORP with KDSS.

During the pandemic, I know they weren't discounting new ones. But, I also could have traded mine in for more than I paid for it. It seems like the market is starting to get back to "normal", to an extent. But, it really seems to vary from one area to another, and even by dealer.

I still can't believe people were paying over MSRP for these things. It almost makes sense with the PRO, but people were letting themselves get gouged on OR's and SR5's.

    Definitely.

Strangely, out of the last 3 auto loans I've had, the highest interest rate was actually on the new 4Runner. I refinanced it after a year or so for a much lower interest rate.

A 2019 TRD Pro with 36k miles, and record of only two oil changes, was more expensive than a fully loaded brand new 2023 KDSS in the same dealership. I got the 2023 and modified the crap out of it with EMU BP-51, 34 inch KO2s, 6 X skid plates, TRD Pro Grill and Exhaust. I did two oil changes before 2000 miles. I am at peace. Used 4Runners don't save you money so why bother

I paid cash for mine. In my experience the interest rate for a new vehicle was always less than for used. When I bought my Honda four years ago they had 1.9% factory financing. I would never finance a luxury purchase like this at 7 or 8 percent or whatever the rates are now. If my financial situation dictated a NEED to borrow money for a car right now at a usurious interest rate I’d be buying a Corolla or a Civic.

2k off MSRP should be very reasonable right now IMO. All of the new 4Runners in our area have a package "can't remember the name? premium black out? accessory isn't working on Toyota's website" and it's $3500. Adds the TRD Pro wheels, Nitto tires, black badges, steps or pos fake sliders.

My ORP was 53k MSRP and wife's SR5P was 51k MSRP. Got 1k off mine because I didn't care, I wanted to dump my 23 Tundra no matter what. Got $2500 off the wife's two weeks later at the same dealership because I DIDN'T want to sell her Venza. I love the package minus the fake sliders that I removed from mine, hers as an SR5 got steps. We both have sunroof, all season mats, tint etc.

Edit: Texoma area isn't flooded with 4Runners so where you live matters a lot.

I have read that Sunnyvale Toyota has had reasonable pricing in recent history. Give them a look.

Thanks for the replies. I've looked at a couple of the dealerships mentioned here and no lunar rock 4runners came up including the one my wife and I looked at. Idk what to expect right now as some seem to think $55k is fair while others are getting -2k below msrp.

The search still continues. I'm located in Chico, CA so if any lunar rock ORP pop up please let me know or send me a pm. I'm sure we will end up with a new 4runner, just gotta be patient.

Mmmm, I dunno, my son bought his 2019 4Runner ORP *new* in the Bay Area for $39k including delivery, but before taxes/registration. Not a massive discount from the msrp, but $1500 off is nothing to sniff at from a Toyota dealer.

If it HAS to be Lunar Rock, don't be too patient - that color isn't available for '24, and dealers are probably getting their last shipments of '23s now. If you're open to other color, I know of a salesman in northern Cal who tells me he can do $5500 off MSRP.

2019 may as well be "pre-war" or "pre-emancipation" for the car market.

    Thanks for the reply

You are correct. Lunar rock is gone for 2024. I just got off the phone with a dealer from Redding, CA and he confirmed it. Also told me 2025's are about 5-7mo out.

Despite my efforts, I can't seem to find a lunar rock orp within 100mi which is just defeating because I know there's one out there.

If you'd like to PM me the dealer/salesman I'd be more than willing to entertain that offer as long as it's an ORP.
