I’m a loyal guy and have been torn over my latest tire purchase but decided to make a switch…

I’ve ran some form of BFG’s on various rigs for literally “30” years without any real complaints. Most of my buddies run KO2’s and swear by them. My wife even has KO’s (like me currently) on her 4Runner as well.

I guess maybe I’m just ready for a change and after doing a lot of research I landed on a set of 285/70/17 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T’s that will get slapped on next weekend. I really like the look and apparent thought that went into the design of this tire + the reviews put me over the edge.

Hoping I don’t get ridiculed by my friends, or worse yet, my wife, for breaking from the KO2 pack.

I guess I feel safer talking to this group first as I haven’t even told the person I’m married too:)!

I think you made a great choice. I'm running General ATX on mine right now, and I actually really like them. Surprisingly, they still have a decent amount of tread left at 50k on them. However, I want to go up to 285, and when I do that I think the Baja Boss is going to be my choice. I like the features, I think it looks fantastic, and I like that it's available in a XL load.

Be sure to post up some pics and a review when you get them.

I hear a lot of good things about the Mickeys. I think you'll be happy.

I assume you mean that you're switching from KO2's, unless you're running some very old tires. ;)

This is what I am asking Santa for Xmas. A set of Mickey T, I just don't know if I should go with the baja legend, or the baja boss A/T. The A/T is a 50/50 AT and the legend is 60/40 which is more highway and less offroading. They sure look great!

The legends are cool, but someone I follow on IG (David Frieburger) ran a set a few years ago on K5 blazer, and said they were surprisingly loud for something not that aggressive. Not sure how true that is, but something to look into at least.
