I'm looking for some help here. I've previously posted about my '23 4runner and the paint that is peeling off the car. I've brought it to the dealership and have been told that it is "poor paint." I've also brought it to 3 outside body shops that have confirmed the issue. Toyota corporate is willing to "repair" the doors, the hood and one fender, while the dealership has offered to "touch up" the bumper and the other fender. Neither will touch the remainder of the car as the paint chipping isn't obvious in any other spots yet despite the entire car being poorly painted and neither will provide any sort of assurance that the paint will not continue to peel from the remainder of the car. Even the service manager at the dealer stated that the issue is with the entire car, but that his hands are tied. Can anyone point me to a lawyer that can get involved in the PA area as I continue to get the run around from Toyota and the dealership.

All I gotta say is good luck.

This is the kind they fight you til you run out of money. Their pockets are deeper if you are trying to get them to re-paint the whole vehicle.

Im in Michigan so I cannot help recommend a Laywer, but that is what you are going to want to do.

Lemon Law or buyback by Toyota. Or park the truck in a parking lot thats known to flood during the next heavy rain storm  Sorry, I kid, I kid... thats the inner Detroiter in me coming out again. lol.

I think most are overlooking this.

They offered to fix what is showing. Asking them to repaint the entire vehicle even though no damage is showing is not going to happen.

I don't see how you are going to lemon law something that was never fixed. But who knows.

I know it sucks but I'd at least get it fixed once.

Yeah, I mean you can play the long game from the other end I guess. Have them paint what is currently damaged and keep bringing it back as long as it's under warranty until they eventually paint the whole thing. No skin off your ass - would be cheaper for them to paint the whole thing at one time but if that's the game they want to play... play by their rules

I would hope so too but I mean he put Toyota won't help in the title.

But in the thread they offered to do something. Gotta manage expectations.

What color is it? Toyota has been known to have problems with white paint.

The Tacoma had/has bad problems with it, there is a giant thread on the tacomaworld forum. Toyota uses a 1 stage paint for the color.

Toyota never excelled with paint quality to begin with, my 97 has crazy orange peel along the B pillars. Paint failure on a new vehicle is a manufacturer defect, even with the worst treatment it shouldn't fail that fast.
