Didn't feel like putting the bike rack on. Didn't know if a 29er would fit in the back (ignore our Airbnb supplies).

It's a good day when there is still dew on the grass entering the trail. Sand got me dirty but worth it.

My wife and I are just getting started in our 50's. I have a Giant Talon 4 and she rides a GT Aggressor Pro. We are just riding various "rails to trails" rides. We're getting out having fun and getting some exercise to boot.

I am a big fan of 1Up racks! Very popular, well designed and well built!

1Up Super duty, I had the rack on doing the Alpine trail in Colorado this summer. Great rack doesn’t move. I had the Thule T2 pro for many years but I picked up a new bike last year and the rack wasn’t long enough and that’s why I went with 1up. The Super duty is made for 4 wheeling from what I read.

One of my son's buddies just bought this exact same bike (2022). Bought it used for $2,000 - mint condition. Drove from MD to NC to pick it up. Three rides in and he is loving it. The Ripmo was really high on my list as well.

I am leaving in three weeks to do the same thing for three weeks or more. Driving from MD to hit trails in OH, MO, WY, UT, ID, OR & MT and return. Did the same trip last year to Grand Junction & Moab with many trails enroute! It was an awesome experience!

Thank you sir! I've only been in areas local to SoCal as far as riding. The plan is to explore some areas north and hopefully end up somewhere in the PNW towards the begining of next year.

My trip this Fall will be focused on the Boise & Sun Valley, ID and Bend, OR areas. I prefer the rockier terrain of Grand Junction & Moab, but I want to check out this sector of the country. Next year I definitely want to hit the Hurricane and St George area of UT. Mountain biking makes for great road trips since there are so many places to ride these days.

I may as well join the fun too. I mostly ride in Michaux State Forest in south central PA. I have also hit trail systems in VA, MD, OH, western PA, DE, NV, and Long Island.

We have a ton of great trails in Nevada County. Check out the parliament trail system off hwy 20 and the Truckee bike park if you make it up this way.

I have ridden Michaux three times. That place is huge and wild! I hit Rocky Ridge in York, PA this summer. I see you have ridden MD - I am assuming since you like Michaux you have ridden the Frederick Watershed and Gambrill State Park in Frederick, MD? Similar technical riding! I love riding the Shed - 30 minutes from my house!

I recently returned from my fall mountain bike trip out west 09/17 - 10/11 (24 days). Another very rewarding trip! I put 6,513 miles on the 4R / $1,306 in gas. I slept in the 4R for 20 nights - very comfortable! I mountain biked 21 of 24 days. Didn't ride on my departure day, one rainout day, and didn't ride on my last day driving home to MD. I hit trails in MO, WY, UT, ID, OR, ID, MT and ND. I really enjoyed checking out this sector of the country - riding in or around Cheyenne, Park City, Twin Falls, Boise, Bend, Ketchum / Sun Valley, Bozeman, and Bismarck. Beautiful destinations, great riding and cool towns! The 4R, the bike and I all held up well! As a bonus I got to spend five days with my college student son in Bozeman.

But from a riding and weather perspective, I preferred my trip last fall to SW CO / Grand Junction / Fruita and Moab, UT. Warmer, drier weather and more of the technical type of riding that I prefer. So next fall I hope to do a return trip to SW CO, Grand Junction, Moab and extend to the St George / Hurricane, UT area as well!

I highly recommend the road trip / car camping for mountain biking or whatever your outdoor pursuits maybe. I am 61 and this is my second fall mountain bike trip out west from Maryland. Very liberating and a great experience! Aside from the 4R getting shitty MPG's - I feel it is a perfect vehicle for this type of adventure!

Nice! Definitely will! How does any mountain biker say no to that riding opportunity?
