I have a set of stock tires with less than 500 miles. Discount tire offered over $300 for the set of four. I thought it was decent but was curious to hear from others on this forum if this is within normal range for stock tires (Bridgestone)? Thanks in advance.

Discount Tire in Gresham Oregon offered me zero dollars. The local store here in The Dalles offered me $300. Considering their prices are higher, that means the net value is still approximately zero... lol. I plan on "trading" them in locally, get my $300 credit and feel good about it. If I lived in a big city maybe I'd think about trying to sell them on Craigslist or FB. Unless you fire sale them I'm betting they'll be taking up space in the garage for awhile.

I didn’t even bother taking them when I had the dealership put on my Pro rims with Nitto’s. I’d take the $300 and run.

Take the $300. They're hard to sell otherwise and they take up a lot of room.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

They are hard to sell, but I sold mine. I got $500 for them! They were Bridgestone Dueler's

I bought tires from Discount Tire also, but they said they COULDN'T buy them from me and suggest Facebook Market place/Next Door, Craigslist, or here.

I finally sold them to the father of on of my friends. When I told him the price (and that they only had 11 miles on them), he snapped them up right away. It took me about 3 weeks, but I got a really good price for them. Don't take $300, hold out for more.

In my area stock new tires go for $300. $700 on a set of new OEM SR5 wheels, $800 on ORP wheels. Take the $300 and run.

When I went to get my tires I wasn't expecting anything for my old tires. Discount Tire offered me $200.00 dollars for my old tires. Said thank you and they took that amount off what I owed.

Wow, $700 for a set of SR5 wheels…. I couldn’t give them away in my area. Sold them for scrap value.

The local tire shop gave me $200 for my set of 4 Bridgestone Dueler's with about 300 miles on them. $300 sounds pretty sweet to me.

I gave mine away, and was happy I didn't have to deliver or pay a disposal fee. "Off Road" Toyotas should be sold with off-road tires.

That's with new tires-in my area they sell quick in spring for a second set of winter tires/wheels. Without tires I think they go for $300-350, ORP $350-400.

Ah, with tires. That makes a little more sense. I got $145 for SR5 wheels from the metal recycler after trying for a while to unload them.

Yeah, I didn't even want the SR5's for my winter tires, went with ORP.

I’d love to find a place who will pay me for these poor excuse of a tough tire (Duellers). I don’t have a Discount Tire nearby and the tire shops I have called local to me won’t pay for them and they have less than 350 miles on them. I’m in central PA. I’d like to get the Duratracs but would like to offset the cost if I could sell these OEM tires.

Just to add to what has been said a few times here, it seems like the stock tires can be hard to sell for much. Where I live (large city in the mountain west) there are always at least a few ads on FB marketplace with people trying to sell the stock tires off a 4Runner and most of those ads seem to stay up for quite a while. There is one ad up currently asking $400 for Dunlops that are almost brand new and it has been up for at least a month.

I sold my Bridgestones with 2k on them for $450. Took 24 hours from posting the ad until they were gone. When I had my '19 I sold the Dunlops with 200 miles for $500. These tires are a popular size so they're easy to sell, in my neck of the woods at least.

I laugh when I check my fb marketplace and see people in my region trying to sell new-ish 4Runner takeoffs for like $950  Of course, you can see the original price of $1250, and that they lowered it to $950. This is just for the tires, not the rims too. And on here on these forums, Im reading people are selling 300 mile takeoffs for $200-$300  People in my area be trippin'

Just sold the Duelers from my wife’s ORP this morning for $200. They had about 17k miles on them!

Did you sell them on one of the marketplace websites?

My only concern with selling them online is not knowing if the individual buying them isn't trying to scam me or worse.

Yes- sold them on FB market place. You do have to be extra vigilant on selling sites like that though. I don’t even respond to “boiler plate” robotic questions. I just delete them. Always meet in a secure public location to make the sale. I always use a police department/sheriff’s office parking lot. If they don’t want to meet there I won’t even entertain the sale to them and move on to the next person.

Only sell to people that are established FB members, live local, have decent feedback for selling, etc. Do some snooping on their profile. If it doesn't feel right, ignore them. Something like this is harder to get scammed on-you meet at public location, exchange tires for cash. Bring counterfeit pen and examine money. Ignore any strange requests, offers, odd payment methods, etc. Biggest issue for what I buy and sell are flakes-people that don't show up.

I don't understand why people keep thrashing Dueler HT that comes with T4R. When I was placing order for my T4R at dealership, salesperson asked me if I want specific tires with it for some additional $$ to invoice price, that wouldn't altered monthly payment much (if I took a car loan). As of Bridgestone Dueler HT it is made in Japan, very light only 39 lbs., OEM fuel economy, itself well balanced, stops me on a dime - dry or wet highway, and incredibly cheap from "dissatisfied" owners. And I am running highways 99% of the time.
