Is it worth the buy

I am considering buying a 2011 4Runner SR5 sport utility 4D with 176k miles. The seller wants $15k. Is the mileage too high or is this a good deal? The car looks immaculate and well taken care of. One owner.

Before buying, make sure to inspect the frame for rust! It’s possible for it to look great on top, but have a frame that has been completely structurally destroyed by corrosion, especially if it has a history of being driven in places that use salt or de-icing chemicals on the road. Do not judge by it’s cover with 4runners, if it wasn’t properly kept clean, tgat frame could be structurally unsafe and make the car worthless. If the seller has a problem with you getting it inspected before purchase, walk away.

 

Get it!
Check for signs of rust and get details about the last oil change and any other major service.
The mileage is okay for the age and if it's well kept it would last you beyond 300k.
Keep in mind you will eventually spend some money on replacing suspension parts and other wear tear items.
But if everything checks out, 15k is fine, close it.
I bought a 2011, 4wd at 167k miles and paid far more than that.

I certainly wouldn't want to pay any more for a vehicle that old

 

If the frame is rust free that sounds like a really good deal compared to what I just paid for a 04’ 1st Gen Tacoma.

 

Make sure it is 4WD

 

Any photos of said 4R?

 

One owner, with service records of trans/diffs being serviced, in immaculate condition that's a fair price. I wouldn't shy away from that mileage at all.
