Longer roof rack side bars to accommodate ski box?

I need to put a ski box on the roof of My 4Runner TRD Off Road. It came with a rack and crossbars, but I can't attach the box far enough forward to avoid hitting the antenna and interfering with the tailgate opening. I tried to buy longer side rails, but Toyota informs me they only manufacture rails then end behind the sun roof. The groove in the roof extends al the way to the front, so if I can find after market rails, I could extend the crossbars forward enough to work.

I doubt I'm the only skier here. How have others handled the roof rack issue?

    Thank you for your recommendations.

Similar problem when mounting my Thule Alpine box. I was able to avoid the antenna due to it being a narrow box, but still came in contact with the hatch when it was open. I ended up buying a Sherpa rack, but that supported other roof mounting needs of mine. Might be overkill for you. I'd look at LFD Offroads 3/4 or 7/8 rack to see if those would allow you to mount the box further forward. They should.

Did you move the crossbars forward?

You can mount a longer box on the Pro rack as long as the bottom of the box is flat.

I have a full length rack. I also use clamps instead of a box because boxes are awful

I'm not familiar with the 4th Gen 4R rack setup...maybe you'd have more luck posting in the 4th Gen section?
