Is this more for looks or trying to achieve higher clearance relocation of exhaust?

That's why there's a flange around the exhaust tips. They typically don't get THAT hot anyway, but good insurance.

Probably both. You get the same clearance benefit with a dump style exhaust but don't have to put up with the cabin drone.

I just cut mine just after the rear axle and secured to the frame. Got tired of smashing it closed

Not my taste, but here is my side exit. Certainly not high clearance lol

Will a little of 3D printing and some glue do the trick?

I like how you think lol. Just dump the exhaust after the axle and get a sticker on the side of the bumper to look like the exhaust!

Thanks! I had a local muffler shop re-route the exhaust to the side and stick on a tip. I like the quietness of my 4Runner so did not want to mess with an aftermarket catback.

There is metal cab structure behind the bumper cover plastic along with an air vent. Significant cutting and close-out sheetmetal work is needed to route the exhaust there:

That particular 4Runner eventually got glass fenders with extra width. What they do with your gas money: https://www.instagram.com/aatish_4r/

Over half of our petroleum imports come from Canada. Only like 15% from OPEC countries.

Then again, have you seen what they do to fries in Canada? It’s called poutine, and I’m pretty sure that’s a French word for some sort of deviant act.

I guess if one were to put these flares/wide body there be no fender rubbin....
