You can certainly get it for less than $500 and install yourself. It's a simple install.

Yep!! I ordered the kit for $150. Instructions are online and look pretty easy. My kit arrives tomorrow….my 4R in the days to follow. I’ll post my input and experience after install

Can honestly say, based off the above docs, 4.5 hours is way off base in regards to actual install time.

*bumping this old thread, rather than starting a new one with similar question*

-how have these keypads held up over the years?
-anyone in gulf states gotten one installed from the dealer?

I saw one dealer wanting 4.5 labor hours for install, what's the current going price?

You can install this yourself quite easily. Don't pay 4.5 hrs labor; don't pay 1hr labor unless you are not comfortable with the most simple in 12v work.

No way I'd pay the dealer $1000 to install a $150 keypad that is prewired...

SET port options listed price at $350 last year, but Im in Gulf States and its not a port option in this region

My 4Runner is supposed to arrive at dealer in a week, and looking for all the dealer installed accessories I may want...

Should I get nitrogen in the spare tire too? Ceramic coated ashtray?

I am honestly surprised they don't offer to scotch guard the soft-tex for $500

I like the 'lifetime floor mat alignment package' for $1500
The 'waterproof frog lube seat rail protection package' for $1000 is tempting too...
The 'teflon coated seal belt buckles' for $1200 is a must have...

But the 'convenience group' is just a grocery store plastic sack hung over the shifter for a trash bag priced at $500 seems like a rip off

It looks like the touch keypad keyless entry was just offered by SET for $350 and not avail in gulf states...

Sparks sells the keypad part for ~$150, but I would pay $350 at the dealer to have them install it with the warranty
    anyone have one?
any feedback on longevity, usefulness, or appearance of the touch keypad?
