Let there be light! I was going to buy the kit, but picked up the parts from "Jeff's" and save a few bucks. Switch operated for now, will install the pin switch if i feel it's necessary.

Nice! I unscrewed the rubber bump stop for the hood, drilled a hole in it, and put a pin switch inside of it. So when the hood pops open the light is on. ;)

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.

ive got this one and really like it. I didn’t want something big as I have already a lot when I go camping so it’s great for me.

it’s on sale currently for $38!

    From the owner’s manual:
“To make your vehicle more visible to other drivers during daytime driving, the daytime running lights turn on automatically when all of the following conditions are met. (The daytime running lights are not designed for use at night.)
    • The engine is running
    • The parking brake is released
    • The headlight switch is in the , (type A only), (type C
and D), or * (type B and D) position *: When the surroundings are bright”

Did you release the parking brake when checking the DRLs?

Picked up some combined polish/wax to touch up the dull spots where the side emblem adhesive was. After a quick hand buff the swirl marks are gone in that area too. Guess I'm doing the whole car now.

Still haven't found an easy way to clean the wheels though.

Brake dust really likes to stick. I use Chemical Guys Diablo Wheel Cleaner, first with a wheel brush and then with pointed, microfiber-covered sponge thing that gets in all the nooks and crannies. Compared to how I treated previous cars, it's fussy overkill, but the rest of the car looks so nice, it feels wrong for the wheels not be just as clean.

I'll give it a whirl; never even bought wheel cleaner before this thing but can confirm that Griot's and black-wheel specific stuff (Meguire's?) don't do much. My last car had bronze plastidip wheels that were nearly zero maintenance cause the brake dust kinda matched. I'm not fussy but the blue looks so damn nice and shiny that the dirty wheels (and dirt stuck between the black letters on the rear garnish) stands out terribly.

    Has anyone debadged the rear?

What negatives did you hear about the H9 conversion?

The vast majority I hear are positive.......including my own experience.

The bulb and wire temperature concerns are not a problem, it’s been hashed out numerous times. Here’s one:

Proper way to carry to sixth tire. When you go cheap with roofrack, rust all over the place. Should have bought the OEM or Gobi. Don't buy crap guys!

    Oooh look, another mod.....
    Two more mods:

    1) The day/night light sensor: (I couldn't fully test it because it's overcast today, but I'm sure it works fine)

    IMG_20231023_163054031.jpg

    2) A color matched key fob. Because why the fuck not? It's gotta match the truck color!

Okay, riddle me this, Batman: How can I imitate the sun? I need to test what it does when the lights are turned on, but I'm driving during the daytime. I cannot do that when it's overcast or dark.

It was the answer I wanted to hear. I seriously mean that. I had a brain fart and couldn't figure it out.

Edit: I tested it and it works perfectly.

    Thanks for the part#.

After you added the sensor did it affect what position you keep the Dimmer switch on the left side of the dash at?

I had this mod on my ‘19 ORP but I can’t remember if it affected the Dimmer Switch Setting. Thanks.

Was a vast improvement over the OEM. That was 1 of the 1st mods I did going from 2015 Tacoma I couldn't believe how dim they were in comparison.

Spent a couple hours with my Runner on the jack and ramps while I crawled around underneath spraying Woolwax in-and on about everything. I'll be ordering more for extra sprays down the road, but I'm glad to get this process started. I need to make this beast last and this will surely help.
