    On my 2nd ORP and having owned a GX460 in between - One thing I love that is rarely mentioned in the forums as a perk, is having the option of 2WD/RWD.

    The mechanics of hopping the front up on a curb, are much different when pushing from the rear only, vs 4WD pulling all the wheels all the time. A driver who has experienced both, will recognize this quickly.

    When parking curbside, I almost exclusively drive up on the curb with the front with the wheel at a 30deg angle, then drive off once I've found the curb. This allows me to park nice and tight, without risking a rim rub, and without shifting into reverse.

    Yes the GX460 had a lot more weight up front, but being able to pivot weight to the rear with RWD, is an awesome feature of the ORP I very much enjoy.

    Yes, the fuel perk of 2WD must be mentioned, but the above is one I have not seen mentioned that I personally overlooked until coming back to a 4R from a GX460.

    Just wanted to share!

    I would have preferred a full time 4wd option in my TRDP.

    2WD vs full time 4WD in something with the aerodynamics of a brick is negligible in regards to fuel consumption

    4th Gen V6 system would be nice.
    2wd -> 4wd center diff free/ locked.

    BTW, my 4runner Limited is pretty good in mpg dept. But I absolutely love full-time 4wd in winter. But on dry pavement I love the fun on curves. In rwd giving gas when you enter and the thrill of maintaining the apex. Sometimes I turn off the music to listen to the tires, lol.
