I love the ko2 and have had several sets. I am about ready to buy new tires. Also considering the Toyo AT3. Not quite as aggressive looking as the ko2 but I think will have slightly better on road and wet traction.

My trade off not sure on which of the 2 to get. Slightly better on road or slightly better off road.

    Oooh look, another mod.....
Have you considered Falken Wildpeaks? These are 265/70 R17's.

If you’re partial to KO2’s, then stick with them.

If you've been happy with them in the past, there's really no need to change.

But, if you're just looking to see what else is good - Falken AT3, Toyo AT3, Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT, etc, etc, etc. There are a lot of good ones available right now.

There is no one best tire do it all. for example to my taste KO2 is much better offroad performance than Wildpeaks, Wildpeaks have really good value for money over most good tires, Duratracs better in snow than other ATs I've tried, etc.. Nowadays I run Toyo OC AT3 (SL), can't say much until I put it to good test. Tires that I most likely not buy again is Nitto Terra Grappler & Continental Terrain Contact. Also not buy any tire that doesn't have 3PMSF rating like Micheline Defender A/Ts regardless people say its good in winter conditions. And will not buy non A/T tires.

Nowadays I think KO3 is available now, which I might be interested since I'm a fan of KO2.

Also give a try on search on the forum. Ton of good info from our experienced members -

I'll throw the Pirelli Scorpion out there for you to consider. I've had mine on about a year now and I really like them. They're pretty quiet on road too.

I’ve had my 265/70/17 Cooper Rugged Treks for around 1200 miles and like them a lot so far. They handle rain, highway speeds, and gravel with ease. They have a 50k or 60k mile treadwear warranty too which I would be happy to get out of a set

You don’t want KO2s. They will handle more than light off-roading. :D

Can't really go wrong with tried and true. Ko2 are damn solid tires. I'd say stick with them unless you need something more specific (mud, highway, or deep snow and ice). Then there will be trade offs for those type of tires. I tend to look at A/T tires as the baseline for a 4runner, not all season that come stock. 4runners should come stock with A/T tires imo.

    New shoes! Not KO2...

    KO3 have arrived!

So far superior traction on melting-ice-mud-covered flat roads to my Sierra's KO2s. The same reliable saber-tooth grip up and down loose gravel and snow!20231027_144748.jpg

Method Race 703 wheels and 33s instead of TRD Pro with 265/65R17 blizzaks.

Those look good. Are they a hybrid tread design?

Thank you! I don't know if Cooper officially calls them a hybrid but I would say they are. A little hum on smooth pavement but nothing unbearable

I like Dueler Revo 3 for all are best everything for me. Great traction and treadwear. Little noise. Had Revo 2 and it was a great tire.

Bridgestone Dueler Revo 3 does everything really well and not many truly do that. I had to buy every 50-60k or 18-20 months. Michelin will get best mileage because they are light and ride good, but they are awful rain tires after 20k. Kumho Cruegen was one of best rain tires on 2wd truck. Pouring rain at 65 mph no hydroplaining
