My 23' TRD ORP that I bought last week has been pretty good in every aspect except the driver side front door. Whenever I shut it, it only latches partially. I have to use notable extra strength to get it to fully close every time I shut the door. The truck is brand new, so theres no dirt on the hinges or mechanism yet. Common issue, or should I bring it in to Toyota Service?

    Oooh look, another mod.....
It's new. Let Toyota fix that problem for you. That's what the warranty is for. Don't try to fix it yourself.

My truck is 2 weeks old and I haven't had this problem. The door works as it should.

    Its probably the rubber gasket.

Mine 4 R was like that. My Tundra is like that. Not just the driver door but overall. I figured it was getting a good seal.

Wasn't worth my time to take it in if its not leaking.

I've noticed that the door on my '23 needs a little bit harder slam to close than my '19 but not really seeing it as a problem. I'm just getting used to giving it a harder push to close. Definitely not worth a dealer visit.

Roll the window down and see if it closes more easily. If so, what you're experiencing is the interior air not being able to escape the vehicle quick enough as the door closes. The built up pressure stops the door from closing without using a bit more force. Mine does it too. (all doors)

New seals, be thankful. That’s why Toyota’s live longer. :)

I don't have this issue with 4Runner, I would bring it to the dealer to fix.

Probably misaligned latch striker on the B-pillar. Dealer can adjust it, or DIY if you got the tools.

Did you use any of the aftermarket assist handles or roof access steps?
