Is there a way to get the second row seats to pivot up, after folding the seatback down, to make access to the 3rd row seating easier? The salesman (if I recall correctly) said that if you pull the lever on the top if the seatback twice, the seat will fold all the way up against the back of the front seats. Was he wrong? Am I dense?
I recall having a vehicle in the past (maybe the 2002 4runner I owned) where this was possible)
    I have a 2023 SR5.

Thank you. That helps a little bit, but that's not exactly what I was referring to. I've had a similar vehicle in the past where you could pull the seat back down onto the seat, and then pull another lever and basically that compacted seat section would pivot on the very front connection And it would fold up like a lid up against the front seat so that you had a lot more access than you do with the seat slid forward and the seat back tilted forward.
Maybe this generation forerunner just doesn't have that capability.

I know what you're referring to, you want the 2nd row to close up like a clam shell. (The top drops onto the bottom, then the whole unit tilts forward) I have seen that style in the.....Sienna, I think?

I'm 99% sure it doesn't work for the 5th generation 4Runner. The 3rd row is pretty useless. Have you seen it or tried to sit in it? I have, and it's kind of a joke.
