    I thought the 3.4 was a belt?

I believe there should be some marks on the inner timing belt cover.

It is a belt my mistake sorry I did check out the timing belt and it jumped quite a lot

The 4runner was parked for a while and just turned it from a automatic to a standard and after getting that done was letting it run and then it just started blowing smoke hella bad and then there was a ting and then a clunk died and it will not start but will turn over

Any advice would be highly appreciated was thinking might have to do a whole engine swap if anyone has any suggestions other then that but am willing to do it but again appreciated and thank you and hope everyone is having a good morning

Fortunately, it appears that the 5VZ is a non-interference engine. But, If it was blowing a bunch of smoke and then made noise and died, that sounds like more than a blown timing belt. Maybe others can weigh in.

Had it been a torn belt, the engine would have died right away. I am not sure how the engine would have reacted had the belt slipped. You can remove the belt cover to check its condition. With the markers on the cam shaft pulleys lined up with the their respective notches, the crankshaft pulley grove must be lined up with the 0 marker.
To me this sounds like a blown head. I'd remove the plugs and check them out. An indicator may be oily or a wet plug. A compression check will certainly help.
