    Automatic to a standard
    It's a 2001 I just turned .my 4runner from a automatic to a standard it started and was letting it run for a little bit and it had a lot of white smoke come out of it and then it ting clunk and died and now it will turn over but won't start and it did sit for a long time b4 I even tried to start it

    Well, typically white smoke is burning coolant. Bad head gasket.

    Check all fluids for oddities.

    Pull plugs and look for fouling.

    Any codes?

    Welcome to the group I also have a 2001 4runner I was going to do the 5speed swap any advice and did u keep the 01 transfer case
