Just curious if anyone has had this done on their vehicle, and have encountered issues down the road re: the extended Toyota warranty?

I'm in Canada in the rocky mountains, and everything is salted so I'm considering this on my new '23. Some people say it voids the EPC entirely, some say it it only voids the body panels that get drilled, some say it doesnt void at all. I cant get confirmation from my dealer so thought I would ask the group. Thank you in advance

I asked my dealer too but didn't get definitive answer. Something in line that if rustproofing done correctly there should not be issues with warranty. But I guess they reserve right to say it's done incorrectly if they feel like it. So I went for Fluid film since it's not affect seals, paints etc and rustproofers didn't drill any holes.

By that logic we can just drive 4Runner as is and if it rusts take it to dealership for warranty claim?
I can not believe some dealers.

I would NOT have them drill the sills to apply Krown, there are factory access plugs on the bottom of the sills that can be used.

Yeah I would not drill holes anywhere period for Krown or fluid film.

Look for a post from Rickysti I believe who has a nice write up on his Krown 4R in Missouri I believe. Lots of good info

The Toyota dealer that I got my 4R from is right up the road from the place that does the Krown application. They offer it as an add on for the new vehicles they sell, at a premium I'm sure. I know this because I have a coworker who bought their 4R at the same dealer and opted for the Krown application. I chose to go direct to the Krown place. If there was a factory warranty issue I doubt they would offer that. Missouri is a VERY litigious state.

As a side note, the Krown place in St. Louis is not an auto dealership, mechanic, etc. They specialize in industrial/municipal grade snow removal equipment and also do Krown. It is not Fred's garage.

As far as drilling holes to spray, I didn't mind. I had it done new and they plug them up when done. If it is a new vehicle and you take it in annually they warranty their rust protection. I just had it done for the 3rd time in prep for the upcoming winter. So far I'm happy with it. It isn't very expensive and I consider it preventative maintenance for long term ownership. Hope this helps.

I just picked my new 4R on Tuesday.....took it to Krown yesterday. My father in law sold me on it as he had his 4R (2013) done since new and when I put it on my hoist it looked brand new. Canadian winters here also.
