Just traded my '15 Audi Q7 in for a more lifestyle appropriate new 18 sr5. I live at 9200 ft. In the mnts of Colorado. I don't expect it to be the monster the Audi is, but this thing can barely get on without me flooring it. What's the best direction to get some power? Chip, exhaust, intake, turbo or super charger?? I would like to maintain warranty. Help! Love the 4 runner but this thing is a gutless wonder!IMG-20180303-WA0001.jpg

It kinda is, the intake does very little, just shift the automatic for a little bit more. I have a Trd intake and picking up a cat back hopefully next week or so but they do very little.

Will that void my factory warranty? What are my options that don't start at$6K?

I’m sure it will void the warranty. There is a guy over on TacomaWorld working on a tune for the 4.0 in the Tacoma, I’m not sure if he is doing one yet for the 4Runner.

A tune would be a good option. Is there a handheld tuner for These?

You could try a pedal commander too. That should help with the bad throttle response.

The Supercharger will not void your warranty. It will only void warranties of specific components if the dealership can prove it caused the issue. For example, if your supercharged 4Runner blower motor for the A/C shits the bed you're still good.

I had a 2011 Nissan Frontier before my current 2017 4 Runner. This thing cant get out of its own way.I was amazed at the lack of power from my Toyota. The Nissan would pin you to the seat back when you nailed it.Oh well,I'll get used to it.

    The same 4Runner everyone has
Tune won't get you much, definitely not enough bang for the buck they'll charge.

"Cold-air intake" and exhaust won't do much except make more noise.

Supercharger is really the only thing that will actually add power.

They're slow pigs, enjoy the drive.

Shift it into S 5 and it will have better acceleration.

At 9200 ft your 270hp Runner is making about 140hp +/-. Ok I don't know if it is that huge of a drop but the altitude is killing your power. If this is a long term vehicle for you, get the supercharger.

I live at about 1000' and its still a pig.I just assumed it had to do with gearing when compared to my Nissan.

Well see there's your problem. I live at 300 feet so my 4R is a rocket ship. :D
