Hey all, our 2018 is idling rough and my wife said it started after we had the oil changed by a jiffy lube type place this last Tuesday. Is it a coincidence, or is it possible / probable that the tech did something wrong?
Whatever the case, what might cause a rough idle and what might be a fix? Would running some premium gas help?
    Thanks for any help.

It could be because of oil change. If the wrong viscosity of oil was used or if the old oil was not completely drained it could make the engine rough. Also, if they added to much oil, the engine does not like it. I am hoping the filter was changed too.
If it does not settle in a day or two, you either confront them ( they would deny any wrong doing) or get your oil and filter changed again at a reputable shop for piece of mind. Engine oil is the engines life line and can make or break an engine.

It sounds like something they did, or did not do. I don’t think premium is going to do anything for you. I would check their work first of all.

Premium won't help and it's not related to oil level or oil viscosity. Is it only rough at idle? Did it start immediately after the oil change? My only guess is to check the spark plug wires...maybe one got bumped or maybe one is starting to fail.

Do NOT ever take your 4runner or any other vehicle to these quick lube joints as they will cause thousands of dollars of damage!!!! If you absolutely have to take to stealership and get the oil/fluids changed. Also, never let them wash your vehicle unless you want your vehicle damaged.

Has you or your wife actually CHECKED the oil level since, looked under the vehicle (for leaks), or at the very least, opened the hood??

Its hard for us to guess what a jiffy lube type place could have done to cause a rough idle without being there. Theres literally a ton of things. Your first homework assignment is to go to the 4Runner and pop the hood, look and make sure the air filter box is properly shut, wiring connections havent been unplugged near the air filter, and then check the actual oil level while the vehicle is OFF and has sat off for at least 30 mins. Then report back.
