2024 4Runner Officially Announced

I'm not sure that data mining qualifies as a feature. Collecting data on my driving style so you can sell it to insurances companies is strictly a bonus margin for the manufacturer.

I'm not saying you'll ever get a stripped down 70 Series style vehicle in the US, I'm just saying that with every new model comes less reliable technology. Sensors are a major source of failure in modern cars, poorly designed and implemented software is another one.

I do like CarPlay, and having a built-in screen is helpful for maps. I also like traction control systems like MTS and ATrac, so, I see the benefits. I'm just not sure how the prices reflect value. I'm old, so, ignore me.

Although I am curious to see what the 6th gen will look like, I’m fine with another year of the 5th. My 5th won’t look dated and more mods to buy..lol.

 

I saw a ‘24 terra Sequoia TRD Pro in the flesh today. As someone who considered pushing their ‘23 4Runner Pro deposit to ‘24 to own the last model year in the exclusive color, I’m glad I didn’t.

Even though the 5th gen body can honestly wear almost any color well, it’s not an appealing color in person imo. Like a turd brown. Too bad they aren’t sending it off with a cooler option.

it’s funny every year when the pro color announced everyone talks shit on it saying it’s the worst color Toyota ever made then a few months in everyone and their moms are willing to sell their first borns to get the color, happens every single year

 

I am curious to see how underground looks in person, on the Corolla in person it looks horrible and cheap. I don’t like lunar rock at all on rav4 but looks decent on 4Runner I think looks amazing on Tacoma

 

TSRP vs. MSRP

Just noticed this.

Weird thing from Toyota: some dealers would list MSRP but not include the destination charge, so Toyota "invented" a new term - Total Suggested Retail Price (TSRP), it's basically the same as MSRP, but it is supposed to guarantee that destination charge will not be added.

This has to be a typo, right?

Just went to the Oc auto show, the Toyota exhibit was quite pathetic like they didn’t give a shit about it, no Land Cruiser, one fugly new 2024 Tacoma that nobody was looking at, two 4Runners they had a lime rush pro that the reps were saying was the new 2024 color (obviously false) and a white pro with the older wheels on it they did have a tundra and sequoia with the terra color in real life looks like it has a tinge of copper to it which I think looks good, looked better to me in person no underground grey of course they did have the new Lexus gx 550 the non over trail model it looked cheap and uglier in person wasn’t a fan

 

That’s a shame. I guess at least as far as the 4R is concerned the reps don’t need to know anything. We sell them on this forum.

 

Personally, every time I see a lime green trd pro I want to throw up. I could have bought it for 2k cheaper than mine but it wasn’t worth it to me. Everyone has different tastes though. Just not a fan of it (worst special color IMO)

Some of the best special colors to me are lunar rock, voodoo blue, inferno red, and army green. Solar octane is okay but I like inferno more

Build tool this morning is showing out of stock on the 4Runner. Believe we should be seeing an update to it very soon showing the 2024.

Not seeing. For me still shows all models and I can build any of them.

Everything still 2023, but they definitely should be flipping soon. However, now seeing a discount for each model, which I don't recall seeing before.

 

Must have been a glitch because it’s working fine for me now as well.

 

That “keep it wild savings” has been on there since at least this summer. Only know this because I had the promotion on my purchase in late June. Have no idea why it’s been there though. Maybe their sales weren’t as good this year? Idk. Unless you’re seeing something else that I’m not
