We have gotten to the point to where half the stuff they cram in I never use let alone even think about. Lol. Now ventilated seats over a giant 42” flat screen multimedia display? I will make that trade every day. Lol. I will hold out hope that some of the limited features sneak their way into the Pro for the last hurrah. That’s all I’m asking for. Lol

Full time 4WD is something that should be available as a third option for all T4R. Just my 2c. As a Newbie.

The MSRP for my 2021 ORP/MR was $44K+. I paid (just before the crazy pricing started) $42.8K. So this dealer appears to want 10-Grand more for the exact vehicle only two years later ??
There is a perceived value with most everything. And most people have a "red line" at some point they won't cross. Add in the current interest rates, and it is not surprising the current market may be experiencing a slow down.

About a year or so ago I read that approximately 60% of the population in the U.S. could not afford a $500.00 auto repair bill. If true, that's scary.

Your last statement is most likely true. A recent study came out that said about 61% of Americans (more than half of all US adults) are living paycheck to paycheck. So ya, it's no shocker why the new car inventory is piling high. People are barely hanging on by a thread.

A 2024 Corolla LE is 25-Grand+. Who, even 10-12 years ago, would have thought the average price of a new vehicle would be in the 40-Grand range. At minimum, this will probably lead many to the pre-owned department. I know my Toyota dealer near me is constantly looking for used vehicles. Maybe we will see the past shortage of new vehicles switch places with used vehicles ? I remember this happening back in the late 70's and early 80's during the high inflation and interest rates. I can remember 12-14% interest rates on mortgages and 20%+ interest on auto loans. Hope we don't see that again.

This has been happening for a couple of years and is why the prices of used vehicles are so high. A shortage of new vehicles led to people hanging on to their used vehicles, creating a shortage of used vehicles. A drastic decrease in lease activity also contributed to a shortage of used vehicles on the market.

I agree. I wonder what the reason is that Toyota only offers FT 4WD in the Limited? Other than maybe the owners who use their 4Runners for serious off-roading, rock climbing, etc... - I think the FT 4WD system would be the better option for the vast majority of 4Runner owners. You get the benefit of 4WD when driving on high traction surfaces - especially in wet/wet turning to ice conditions. Benefit of towing in 4WD. If you do need equal power to all wheels all the time - lock the center diff. If you really get stuck - a wheel or multiple wheels just spinning - go into L4L, turn on ATRAC and you can pull yourself out of just about anything. Is the cost of the FT 4WD system a lot more than the PT 4WD system?

Dealer reached out to me after inquiring about a 24' ORP in Underground. He sent me their first 4runner in Underground they're receiving, but it was a TRD Pro. $54,920 base, but with all the added packages and accessories it had on it, it came out to $63,765. Out of my price range, but it does at least give some insight that dealers are starting to get them.

    $63k sounds so crazy for a 4Runner.

They must be adding a lot of accessories to get to that price… there are only 3 packages you can add in the 23 builds get only $700…

Just checked out the site for my local dealer and they have 3 or 4 24s listed as in production. They have one pro, listed at 64k that includes an 8k mark up… I guess I’m not getting my wife a pro…

Have a msrp order in for a Pro in underground so this gives me hope they will see one soon. They didn’t get one this round so hopefully next cycle they will. Actually working with 3 dealerships so hopefully one will come through soon. Would like to have it before Christmas. Lol

Good luck before Christmas. Before I got my 23 Pro my salesman told me I probably would not see a 24 Pro till next year but not sure which month. My 23 did not even come in for September I got the one before that because the guy backed out. The Pros seem to take longer to get.

The last one I was supposed to get took right at 2 months. From a request, to allocation, to arrival. Could have been incredibly lucky timing though.

It might have been. I have owned enough of Pro’s and that’s what I’m going off of.

Definitely seems to depend on the dealer. I know I am the only one on the list at these 3 places so I have that going for me. Lol.

Good question! On the other hand, $8k is consistent with the premiums dealers around here were asking for Pros a few months ago.

Ya, it said $6,112 of dealer installed packages & accessories added. + $1,338 post installed packages & accessories + $1,395 delivery processing and handling.
    • KARR Security System
    • Repel Shield
    • Protection Package
    • Total Optional Equipment (Doesn't explain what this is)
    • TRD PRO Package

Is what is on the list.

Looking at this pricing, I'm sure glad I bought in March of 2021.

If I had to pay current pricing for the 4Runner I bought in 2019, I would not buy one. It isn't worth eight to ten grand more than what I paid. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but...

So this last round of allocations on Wednesday seemed to have triggered the 2024’s. Showing 4 TRD Pro’s now working about 200 miles in the inventory on the Toyota website. Hopefully that will start the trickle down effect at some of the other dealerships.

Yep, my dealer reached out again today and said they have a few 24' PRO's and ORPs coming in for their first shipment. Surprisingly only one in Underground. But he said new allocation will be coming in a few weeks.

I really just want to see one in the underground color. Hopefully it wont be much longer before we see one. At this point though I will take the first of black or underground.
