I have a 2020 Nightshade Limited and I can't control my iPod from the steering wheel other than skipping forward or backward. I can't use the screen when I'm driving either, so I am stuck listening to the same songs over and over until I get to a red light or something, or trying to navigate my actual iPod which I'm not going to do while I'm driving. Is there a way to turn that off to where I can at least use the screen to navigate the iPod menu? I had a 2019 before this with a little different stereo and I was able to navigate the whole iPod menu from the steering wheel. Is it because my iPod is too old, or is it because the steering wheel controls on the limited are used to navigate the menu in the instrument panel? I don't want to buy a newer iPod and it still not work. Also, this is using the iPod connected with Bluetooth. I haven't tried apple carplay. I don't know how to use it lol Thanks in advance!

    Oooh look, another mod.....
I found your same issue on another site:

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/carplay-vs-ipod.109787/

Now, he eventually had to transfer all the songs from his iPod to a USB drive, and then he could use the steering wheel controls to navigate. It may not be the answer you want to hear, but with it being an old iPod, your options are limited.

I transferred all of my songs to a USB drive and can control everything from the steering wheel.

I don't mind to get a new iPod if it will fix the issue. I just don't wanna spend that much money if its still not going to work. Thanks for the info about the USB drive.

Don't get a new iPod. Get a thumb drive. Check Amazon. They are very cheap, can have a lot of storage, and plug into the USB port that is near the power outlet that looks like a cigarette lighter port. You can then use all of the controls on the steering wheel. I have done this on two different TR4s.

You can get on your computer and transfer your music from the ipod to the thumb drive. Determine how big your music file is on the ipod and buy a thumb drive that has enough memory.
