    Oooh look, another mod.....
Update: The deal for the Nautical Blue "2Runner" fell apart. No biggie. It was listed as used, so the warranty would have been diminished. After thinking about it, I really didn't want the cream colored interior.

I found this one at a dealership MUCH closer to me and I didn't have to do any serious negotiations with them. They tried to add on a $1,195 "accessories" package. I asked them to remove it and they immediately said "Sure, but ONLY if you pick up the 4Runner by close of business this coming Saturday." It's also 4wheel drive. Now I don't have to worry about getting flamed on this for being a "2Runner". I'll be a legit Fo-Runna!

Oh, and the VERY FIRST thing I'm going to do is buy some tires that better fit the vehicle. The Dunlop's that are on there look ugly. I'm going to Discount Tire to slap some Toyo Open Countries on it.

I'll get the official paperwork and numbers in a minute, but the OTD price is: $47,457 (I'm paying the TT&L upfront, that won't be rolled into the loan).

    Here pictures of it: https://www.familytoyotaofarlington...anniversary-special-edition-JTEUU5JR5P6186069

I'm not talking smack or saying anything negative about you or your vehicle. You've clearly spent a lot of time and money on your rig. It's got 35's. Not a lot of people rock 35's on their 4runners. That in and of itself is very impressive. Sounds like you even have a winch. Not a lot of people put the winch in their aftermarket bumper. Again, impressive

It's simply incongruous to have everything you have and not 4wd. It's very intriguing. Makes me wonder, did you get the truck and then get a strong emotional attachment to it (as we all do) so decided to just make it work? Is is all about the look and your IG account? which I totally get. Most of the money I've spent on my 4R has been for looks. I could have achieved the same result in less than a quarter the cost, I just wouldn't like how it looks.....which is also part of the result.

It's simply intriguing. I appreciate the invite to go camping especially since there's not a lot going on in this forum. I will not be able to make it though.

Absolutely no offense taken friend. I initially wanted to turn the 4runner into a solid front axle to allow more travel than regular 4wd, but has I got comfortable with the rig I felt it was fully capable with what it had based on my needs. I currently am on a 6.5 lift which the 2wd platform allows me to do fortunately and clears 35s and regear helped a lot. I just wanted to test the limits of this rig to its full potential. Plus in 2016 there wasn't a 4wd in stock where I was and I was impatient LOL.

I was fortunate to plan my build and be patient with it, the look just came together. Each item on my rig I use. Believe it or not, just being patient on sales made me achieve this at a fraction of the cost. Rome was not built overnight.

@MVXOffroad could you share what kind of setup you had before the 35s (were they big?). Since the 2wds have a hair lower clearance on paper . . . thanks

especially wondering what rubs in the rear

The reasons why people would choose a 2wd (sometimes) have to do with the mechanical differences between the 2wd and 4wd.

by the way @Borracho Loco , nifty knob you got there!
