I heard somewhere that this week was the anniversary of his name change!

Also, he was Joan Baez's boyfriend when she was (1) still kinda cute and (2) not so weird!

The taunts reek of a beta male desperate to convince people he’s an alpha male. That aspect makes it funny. I even envision these conversations taking place face-to-face and how the beta male is 5’ 3”, weighs 110 lbs and runs his mouth while standing behind 5 of his larger friends with the hope that the friends will cash the checks that the beta can’t cash on his own. LOL

Thinking it’s going to be a limited. I’m passed the bro shocks stage and don’t need to impress anyone with the fake hood scoops.

Test drove a TRD Off-road, drove real nice. KDSS seems to work well, but has bunch of features I’ll never turn on and neither did the previous owner. Also no 7 passenger seating, not needed but a nice bonus.

Is there away to mute the so-called dickheads....haha so we don't have to see / read their dumb ass comments over and over about Limites and other stuff I could care less about reading from them? I have been on other forums and have been able to do this and was rather nice.

Is this what the ignore option does? Haven't used it yet but sounds appealing for this.

I guess this would make lot of Pro owners put me on ignore list since I give lot of crap about TRD Pros for their poor build quality (compared to other trims fully built in Japan), Toyota cheap out on tires, poor (Edit - may be I will say not that good) suspension for the price paid (Edit - I mean for example my $39K TRD ORP + $3300 insanely good suspension vs $50K TRD Pro with stock Fox suspension), skinny wheels not ready for upgrades, etc..

It does accomplish that. You'd only see those responses if someone else quotes them.

For someone who detests the Limited trim and wouldn't be caught dead driving one - you sure spend a lot of time in a discussion that explicitly states it is discussing option clarification on Limited trim. Shouldn't you be spending your valuable time "playing in deep mud puddles" or rock crawling, or some other manly activities in your TRD Pro?

    Oh yeah... lol

A "real man" doesn't care if some rando online approves of his car.

I'm guessing he also wouldn't shit on other people's preferences either...

But really, you lost me when you said the stock OR wheels are ugly, lol. Conveniently they are my favorite, but I know a lot of people change them. It also helps that everyone around here gets Pro wheels, so the classic OR looks a little more unique now.

I chose a Limited for the full time four-wheel drive, the much more comfortable interior, the ability to pretty much do whatever I needed to do to the truck to go wherever I needed to go. I mostly drive in the desert, and air conditioning and cooled seats really make a big difference. Full-time four-wheel drive means I don't have to mess around whether I'm driving through the desert or up in the Gila for mountain biking. Of course, in the winter, while we don't get hardly any snow here in the desert, the Sangre de Cristo's, the Gila and the Sacramento's all get plenty of snow to play in.
Now, while my grandson does play soccer occasionally, we don't have any soccer moms in this household. Buy what you want, buy what you can afford, and have fun. Really, for most people who look at my truck and go oh, I wish I had a 4Runner, I tell them it's a great vehicle, as long as you don't care about the gas mileage. YMMV

I also got the Limited with full time 4wd. No complaints except for the 20 inch rims. IMG_2555.jpg

its an easy swap to 17in wheels and tires at a tire shop. I did it.

In 2021 (I believe) when I configured a Limited for my friend I was able to pick 17in wheels to the Limited but dealership didn't want to take a personal order. They want to pick from their inventory and none had 17in wheels.

Yeah. I tried to do a even swap for the 17 inch 40th anniversary bronze rims but the dealer wanted to sell them to me. Maybe in a year or so when I can afford them.

Well to update this thread, I ended up with a Limited. 2016, black on black, 71k kms. Came with 20” aftermarket rims wrapped in BFG KOs. No regrets this far and I’ve had it for a month. The creature comforts are nice and glad I got them, the 4Runners are plain as is lol so a couple nicer “touch” options doesn’t hurt.

What’s the hate for 20” wheels anyways? Less sidewall and rougher ride?

That depends what you will do with it. I went 22' aftermarket, feels like a sports car now...just kidding. I do like the ride on 22" better though as it feels a bit more firmer.

The limited is very capable however toyota gave it some awful styling. If the limited received the same regular 4runner bumpers, trim, and 17" wheels it wouldn't get nearly the heat that it does.

But I don't understand those of you who buy an offroader to just commute in. They have abysmal road handling characteristics. Have you never driven anything else?

In my opinion the only reason to buy a 4runner is if you go off road. It is a poor choice as a soccermom mobile, mall crawler.

we bought ours for the "alleged" reliability, unfortunately ours was in the shop for a month getting fixed, so not too happy about that. However we go camping, kayaking, etc so no real off roading as such but find it comfortable and can be loaded to the rafters sort of speak. Also used the rear opening window quite a few times, did not expected to but it came handy on more than few occasions.
