I just checked the specs on the TRD Pro and TRD Offroad and both show a stock ground clearance of 9.6”.

That said, the Trail/TRD OR offers more bang for the buck.

Like @NightGlow says, the saving in cost can be used to make the Trail/TRD OR a awesomely capable vehicle. This is why I’m in my 2nd 4Runner in a Trail/TRD OR package. I’ll go ahead and disregard my midlife crisis STi between my 2010 Trail and the 2017 TRD OR

Just made the with two days ago.... bought a small utility trailer and now I am golden. Love the extra space, power, and feel. Loved my Taco, but don't regret the switch! By the way, I have some OEM rims for an 18 Off Road 4Runner if anyone is interested....

This will show how much I don't know:
Is the 4.0V6 and 5 speed auto the same as in my 2013 Tacoma; but with a different tuning? Or a completely different thing...?
    thanks

Kind of, it’s still the 1GR-FE engine code but in 2010 Toyota added the dual VVT-i to the 4.0 in the 4Runner and FJ Cruiser and bumped the power up to 270hp and 278lbft torque

    OK, thanks...
I did actually google that, but didn't come right up with engine codes and tunings.
My 2013 Tacoma has vvt, byt maybe not dual vvt.
