Sorry to continue this conversation as i feel it has been beat to death. I have a 2022 TRD ORP and replaced the factory wheels with the TRD Rims in Gloss Gunmetal Grey. These rims were OEM for model year 2020. My Toyota dealer said the TPMS sensors were not compatible because the rubber stem sensors would separate (??) when removed and could not be used. They then quoted new aluminum bodied sensors at $125 per sensor, but didn't advise the part number. Bought the wheels from BAM Wholesale who indicated the correct sensor should be 42607-48010, which from reading other posts indicated this sensor was for the MY 2020-2021. My question is the model year compatibility- is there any reason this sensor part number would work in a model year 2022? I don't want to go through the trouble of breaking the wheels down again until I know I have the correct sensors. Thanks.

Second opinion? Are your factory sensors and wheels still assembled?

Yes they are. Can those sensors be removed and used in the TRD wheels?

I don't know myself. If the dealership gave me an answer I didn't like I would start talking to independent shops.

I'd take it down to Discount Tire and pay them to put the correct sensors in and pair them with the vehicle. They'll, most likely, use aftermarket sensors. They did this with our Sienna and they work fine (after having to replace one that was DOA)

My tireshop pulled the TPMS sensors from my TRDOR wheels and installed them into my TRD Pro wheels. Charged me like 10 or 15 bucks a piece to swap them when installing new tires on the new wheels. Didn't even have to fully remove the tires from the TRDOR wheels to get the sensors out.

Dealer is full of it. Just want to make some extra money off you.

I had the sensors swapped from the OEM Off Road package wheels to my TRD Pro Wheels at a local tire shop. I provided the shop with 4 tpms service kits for the sensors which consisted of new seals for the sensors.

Thanks to all. I was confident the dealership was just trying to make an extra buck. Just sucks because it is my closest Toyota dealership for service and this makes me question whether I want to do business with them in the future.

I second Discount tire. Of all the modifications I've made to my 23' this year the biggest PITA was the TPM sensors. I bought new wheels and tires and the sensors they sent me were not compatible with Toyotas system so I had to have them removed from the stock wheels and swapped out. Then I bought a 5th wheel and tire set up for the spare and asked that the right sensor be installed however I didn't find out till a few weeks ago that they forgot to install the sensor in the spare when I did a 5 tire rotation, so that one had to be redone and programmed. So after thousands spent on a new suspension, armor, front bumper with winch, onboard air etc, the only issues I've had were the friggin sensors!

Yes they can. They lied to you. I did this on my taco & the 2013 factory ones fit the SEMA 4Runner wheels flawlessly! Might want to try another shop
