Ive driven a 2008 4Runner for the last 15 years. I can’t remember a SINGLE time I was ever shocked getting out. I recently purchased a 2006 4Runner and I get shocked literally EVERY single time I get out! I now close the door w my foot to avoid getting shocked! I still drive the 2008 at times and never get shocked! Same seat material in both cars, wearing same clothes, same weather! What gives?

Seat materials are different between the trims, SR5, Sport Edition, & Limited. Are the seats in the trucks you're referencing the same material?

How's your mechanic doing? Is your door live with electricity? Any aftermarket kit, switches, lighting (from before you)?

I had a car (can't remember which one) that did this to me everyone I got out. I learned to touch a piece of metal in the car before I got out and it didn't happen as often. It is most like related to static as @gomiami pointed out above.

I would just take the 2006 4Runner back. Any accident history?
Or if you really like the truck for keeps.. Take to Dealership for diagnosis
