I own a 2012 SR5 with 70,000 miles. If the car sits for a week at a time it will not start. I replaced the battery a few months ago (because the car was dying ). It ran good until I was away for 2 weeks, now the car wont start without a jump( and dies after ignition off). I was told there is no draw, starter or alternator issues by Toyota last time this occurred. Not sure what to do.

You have some sort of parasitic draw. Have you installed anything that draws power when when off?

    Also: sporadic

If no parasitic draw or alternator problems were found by the dealer, then start looking at any aftermarket mods that tap into the electrical. Do you have a remote start system?

    All mods:

    grille with raptor lights
    Usb port
    ICS rack with usb ports
    Baja design ditch lights

Is there a way to test mods to find the culprit?

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
Clamp on amp meter on the battery cable to verify a drain then move on to test the individual mods.

I’d only suggest doing that if the OP knows his way around a multimeter. It’s possible to screw the pooch much worse than it is now if you make a mistake, especially measuring draw. Don’t ask me though, i only know enough to be dangerous.

How do you mess up using a clamp on meter?

He doesn't have to unplug anything. But if you get a regular MM you do.
