Should it have come with floor mats?

We just purchased a 2023 4Runner Limited, it is actually our first Toyota! I thought it was weird is that it didn't come with any floor mats, not even stock carpet ones.
I was wondering if this is normal or should it have come with some form of floor mats? I've already ordered some OEM mats, but wanted to see if I should go to the dealer to get what should have came with it.
    Thanks!

    Congratulations and welcome!

Are they listed on the documentation anywhere?

I think it should have. My 2019 still has the OEM mats and they are GOOD to go!

    Welcome to the forum :toast:

Floor mats are usually thrown in the back seat or rear cargo area. Upon vehicle delivery, the sales rep reads you some legalese, then shows how the mats click into place. It's fallout from all the pedal entrapment lawsuits 13 years ago.

Was the vehicle bought new or a "manager's demo" with a few thousand miles on it?

No that is wrong. When you didn't purchase all weather mats with your order the fabric carpets should come with the vehicle. If you buy the all weather mats with your vehicle the all weather mats would be installed and the fabric mats would be in a plastic cover / bag thing.

(Edit - atleast till 2021 4runner. No sure anything changed)

Actually they are listed. We didn't even look under the paper protective linings until we got home and realized there were no mats.

Good. There's your leverage if you need it. May not need it if it's a good dealership.

The only trim that comes with any type of floor mat standard is the Pro. All other trims are optional and will be added to the Monroney sticker.

Actually my '23 ORP came with 2 sets of floor mats. The weather tech type and the monogramed carpet type. Anyone else?

My '23 ORP came with optional all weather floor mats (which were installed), and the standard carpet type were in the rear. The standard ones come with the vehicle, they aren't swapped if you pay for the optional ones, you get them anyway, and at least with 4Runners, they are a standard part of the vehicle.

Unless you plan on actually using the OEM carpet mats I would just ditch them for some Husky X-act Contour mats on the first and second rows. I sold the Toyota OEM "All Weather" mats and like the Husky's a lot more.

I am a firm believer that floor mats should be the first upgrade in a new vehicle. Whether that be the all weather ones from Toyota or the aftermarket. I went with Husky Liners but Weathertech and Oedro make custom all weather mats. There may be some other ones as well.

Note that I sold my Toyota stock mats (only used to get home from the dealership) for $20, it may not be worth the effort to go pick them up if you are going to order better all weather mats.

My ORP had the all-weather option, but they also included the carpet-type mats still in their plastic bags.

My 2022 TRD Off-road came with 2 sets of mats - carpet mats in trunk and all weather mats installed. I didn't pick any options, not sure was those all weather mats dealership courtesy or standard configuration.

Cancel your oem floor mat order and get a set of Husky or Oedro.

Looks like they changed it. Off-road and TRD Sport get carpeted mats standard and the Pro gets all-weather mats standard. All other trims are optional.

All weather floor mats front & rear plus rear trunk, $309.00 option. Carpet floor mats front & rear in plastic bag in rear trunk, along with Toyota first aid kit & cargo net in plastic bag with cardboard tag. Bought Husky for Tundra and saved carpet maps in attic. Husky rules, OEM Toyota so so. Welcome to the forum!

Mine came with OEM all weather mats and cargo mat. Carpet mats not included and would be a no go anyway.

Carpet mats for a 4Runner is a oxymoron.
