Purchase price of a new Lunar ORP

Dang , I read all these posts about Jerry's Toyota and had to go read reviews on dealerrater.com . Most are scathing about the service dept, but dang I thought stealerships were bad, but the good ratings were only because "I didn't get screwed there this time" . LOL

I can’t believe how dealership are still playing around with the “inflation card.” Out of pure fun, I went to my local dealership to check out a TRDORP lunar rock and was chocked how they wanted 4k for stupid predator running boards.The price below doesn’t reflect the BS fess, docu fees nor taxes in which will bump the price to probably 56-58k. Pre-covid the msrp used to be around 35k.
What upset me the most is that the “inflation” applies to you the consumer, but not to them the dealership in the case you want to trade-in your car.

 

and with all those charges on your screen, they can only pony up for 6 Gallons of gas? LMAO

I was trying to figure what that ORP package could even be but there is none close to that price. Maybe KDDS with options and tube steps? That’s pretty ridiculous but I guess a dealers gonna dealer

 

If it’s like down here the predator package is Pro wheels and tires, Pro grill, steps, and black badge. Still a ripoff, but not just steps. Those are “only” 899.

And when you can get out the door around sticker price that’s a good deal.

That's almost the same specs as mine, I think I had a couple minor additional options.

 

Just wondering are you from the maryland area. I tried to get another one from an out of state dealer and the price goes up significantly. Does this dealer sell to out of state customers at the same price or is it more.

Toyota Direct in Columbus, OH is where I got a similar deal for those still looking. As long as you have a trade they will deal out of state as well as far as i understand it. Two Lunar ORP arrived at the dealer on the same day and while I was grabbing the one I was told someone from MI was coming down to purchase the other that next morning. As fast as they arrived they were gone...

 

You can do MUCH better.
A 2023 4Runner TRD OR with sun roof and all weather mats, stickers for $48,164.
At dealerships in Ohio, with $3200 off MSRP, the total is $44,964.
Taxes at 7.75% = $3,484.71 plus $250 Title and tag fee.
Total out the door cost-= $48,698.71

The word is getting out about Toyota Direct. I've bought all Toyotas from that dealership (I'm in Columbus) and they off $3k discounts without haggling.

 

For sure! I didn’t realize until after the deal but I got mine at the lowest price in the country at the time.

Direct is the dealership closest to my place and I had never even considered them because their lot is a mess right now (under construction) and they have literally 3 cars on it since their used cars all go to Drive Direct down the street. Now I realize they have no cars because everything they order is either sold before it hits the ground or immediately sold off the lot because of their pricing.

I will say I do think this deal OP is getting is a little better than what I got OTD, but I think it comes down to the lower state tax rate. A little jelly of that KDSS as well.

 

At the pricing they are quoting, that dealership is likely selling a lot of Toyotas. Which might increase their allotment status from the Factory. Someone might not travel out of state to make a purchase for say a $500.00 saving. But for 3-grand they probably will, at least if they live in the Midwest. After all, the warranty is provided by the Factory, not the dealership.

 

Here she is. Picked it up last night. I can't thank Tyler Day at heritage toyota in catonsville enough . There was zero BS the price 2 weeks ago was 50,300 OTD and it never changed on me . The finance lady was great and got me just a hair better rate through wells fargo than my credit gave me for having excellent credit. They did definitely try and push their warranty packages hard but I stayed steadfast on the fact that all I want was the truck and the factory warranty. Overall I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Nice people and we got the truck with kdds in the color we wanted for the price we think was great .

So I was just wondering. Are you from pennsylvania. I am asking because I noticed that you financed through them and was wondering if you was an in state buyer. I am thinking about going to this dealer to see what I can get. They have a nice limited but still on the fence. Also they do plates and registration for out of state buyers? how does that work.

 

I live in maryland. I'm not sure how they handle all that. Call and ask for Tyler Day .
