Check Marketplace for SR5 wheels. Otherwise, last time I checked OE style steel wheels are about 80 bucks each.

Thanks. Are all 5th gen OEM wheels interchangeable? I have 2011 Limited currently.

Limited & Sport models have 20" wheels, all the other models have 17".

Yes, you just need the appropriate sized tire, of course.

The steelies are 17", so you'd need to buy 17" tires. I'm not sure how exact you can get to the original diameter of the 20" wheel combo, so to be safe you may need another matching spare 17.

Hopefully someone who's done this will chime in. I think @Agent_Outside has a Limited with 17" wheels.

Looks like the 20" with stock tires are 31.57", 17" wheels with stock tires are 31.6".

Darn. I can remember being able to buy used (not bent) black steel rims for $10.00 each. LOL

Too bad you’re not in the Atlanta area. Got a set of new ORP takeoff’s I would let go cheap.
Just sitting in the storage room because I don’t feel like posting and shipping.

Keep the Limited wheels with a set stock sized winter tire (I know Blizzak has some, I don’t know if Nokian does at this point but I prefer Nokian in general) and buy a set of 17” OEM take offs for the rest of the year (with stock tires or an upgrade to the tire of your choosing). Put the TPMS sensors in whatever wheels will be on for the majority of the year.

I did that setup for years on my Limited until my level of preparedness didn’t matter any more. Any decent all terrain and some defensive driving was more than enough when you’re always stuck behind dickheads with shit tires in the mountains during snow storms that are either stuck, or on the verge of being stuck… either way the roads end up blocked. I don’t go up skiing on the weekends anymore.

I changed out my 20” to 17” on my 18 Limited using a full set of 5 ORP wheels 7.5”x 17 and a standard oem 265/70/17 Falken Wildpeak AT -3 tire. Rims are selling for about $100 each on Craigslist Facebook marketplace or eBay. Got 4 on Facebook marketplace for $350 and the matching spare on eBay for $100 shipped.

Do you have the tires already? If not just buy a set of SR5 or TRD take off's and buy 17" winter tires. Keep the 20's for summer!

I am liking your idea. I want a beefier 'off roadish' tire for most of the year-17" is the best choice for that it seems. Thanks.

I do not have anything except the stock 20's with mediocre all weather tires currently.

Then 17's are totally the way to go. Satisfies your requires at a lower cost that 20's.

Do you have any rubbing? I read some had rubbing when putting ORP on their Limited's.

I'll second that motion. I live in Rochester, NY where we average 100" of snow each winter, so I run full Ice and Snow rated winter tires from December thru March. In the summer months, I run an aftermarket set of 20's. In the winter, I run a set of 17" SR5 wheels with Blizzak DM-V2 tires. The taller sidewall on the 17's is also much more forgiving than the 20's when you hit the inevitable pothole. The narrower section width of the snow tires I selected is also much better for traction than fat / wide 20's.

Oddly enough, I also run the original (I have an SR5 Premium) 17" SR5 wheels with the original all-season tires from October thru December and again in the spring from March thru April. (Yes, that's three full sets of wheels and tires.)

That's a lot of tires! Do you have TPMS sensors on all 3 sets?

Yes. My son is a Lexus Certified Service Technician, so he has the tool to make swapping wheels much easier.

I had a very minor rub drivers side in reverse fully cocked but I pushed the liner back a little using a heat gun pushing with a rubber mallet. Literally took less than 10 minutes to fix. No issues since and it’s been a little over a year now.

Got the 17's and was going to put winter tires on them so I could do it early and avoid the rush, but now thinking about putting the winter tires on the 20's. Blizzaks are about $45 more per tires that size vs the 17".

Put the winter tires on the 17" wheels. More hidden potholes that time of year. Currently, Costco has the best price on Blizzaks and Discount Tire will match them. I priced the 265/70R17 DMV 2 the other day and they were about $730/ installed plus tax at Costco for a set of 4.

What tires are you thinking about? I ended up after much research going with Falken Wildpeak AT3 as they were available at a great price, longer wear warranty than most AT and are 3 peak mountain snowflake rated winter tires that you can keep all year round. There are many options but my experience in the winter weather and wet pooling has been exceptional with this tire. I was originally planning on switching back the 20’s in the spring but liked the Wildpeak so much I left them year round.

Have you tried a salvage yard? I got 4 rims for winter tires for my old Lexus RX 300 for pretty cheap.

Was thinking Blizzaks for winter, Wildpeak rest of the year. I don't have a lot snow/ice driving experience fwiw.
