First time owner from WA

Howdy y’all, I recently picked up a 2021 SR5 premium and really have no idea what could be done to the vehicle so I figured I’d start here. I do want to see what possibilities are open for me in the way of mods but what I would really like to do is find a cheap center console arm rest (not a cover the actual arm rest) and tear that apart. I do a lot of leather working and was looking to do some custom tooling and replace the lid. The only bad part is I can either find covers or it’s full lid assemblies that cost 300 bucks. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

 

The dealer gave me a very honest advice about mods. If you want a solid truck that runs till the end of times, then keep it stock. By stock he meant no lifts, bigger tires, regearing, and superchargers. Other than those 4, do whatever you want with it. Fancy wheels, grill, roof racks, sky is the limit.
My TRD Premium has so many tools, I highly doubt with proper tires and underbody protection it fails me on modest trails. KO2s are all my trucking is getting, nothing more.

 

Roger that, I was really only planning on doing cosmetics at the moment. Like I said I really don’t know what can be done to these 4Runners so i don’t know how far down the rabbit hole I’m going to fall lol.

 

Cosmetics are worth it, absolutely go right ahead. Get the TRD Pro grill with the classic TOYOTA
An $800 ceramic coating doesn't hurt either.
I did undercoating today, you should consider that too.

 

How much did you pay for the 2021 SR5 Premium? I hope no more than $35,000 - $38,000.

37. Pretty much all the other styles in my area are another 5-8k more so I’d like to think I got a decent deal on it. Plus a lifetime power train warranty from the dealership.

 

I got a 2023 fully loaded TRD Premium with KDSS, Offroad Premium Package, blacked out emblems, and rock rails for $48,500. Did you check the prices on new ones? They also gave me 100,000 mile and 7 year roadside assistance. Your lifetime powertrain warranty is sweet. Don't depend on that though, change the oil regularly lol.

2023 TRD (at least from a quick google search) in my area is 56k+. I also got a 10 year roadside assistance. There’s also another warranty package included in my payment plan that I’m not to familiar with but I believe repairs any cosmetic damage (inside and outside) as well as full tire and rim replacement (exact same make and model so if I upgrade and they get damaged, they replace with the exact same type and not something with equal value). I didn’t have much time to shop around considering I was replacing a worn down POS and this was the best option I could come up with.

 

How do we use the roadside assistance? Through Toyota or the dealer?

 

Don’t quote me because I just bought my car last week and I still don’t know everything about it but I believe I saw on the sticker for the oil change reminder on the windshield there was a phone number you could call for 24 hour assistance.
