Picked up an 89 4Runner from a buddy of mine. 390K miles, 3.slo v6, manual, 4x4, SR5, sunroof. Runs great. Complete but lots of rot. I am historically a Jeep guy (I'm on my 14th Jeep project - mostly old FSJ's and CJ's). This is my first 4Runner and my two youngest kids (18M & 16F) both were really excited and have been actively working with me on this so I'm really enjoying time with the kids and I've caught the runner fever - having a blast. We have it torn apart and we are doing: water pump, stat, timing belt/kit, radiator, temp sensor, all hoses, valve cover/plenum/TB gaskets, tune up, fluid changes, all new brakes, OME lift kit, front steering rebuild kit, front: fenders, grill/bezels/lights/signals, bumpers/corners, lower valance. Maybe hood. Tail lights.

Figuring out: new vinyl flooring, seat covers, sound system, CB, clutch, fender flares or bedsides? (need some help with those - unsure of options). Then paint/decals when I'm happy with the mechanics of it.

Really looking forward to working on all of this with my kids. Can use all of the help I can get!
Thanks in advance.Front Pic MAY2023.jpg Sid Pic MAY2023.jpg

Build that bad boy and you got the coolest 4Runner on the road. I would want to you to get a front solid axle swap.

Looks like you know your way around an engine. You have a true OG 4Runner right there. Keep up the good work. This is the way. Welcome!
